The SAA was majority Sunni 5 years ago, they are a minority today.
There are allot of Sunni militias but they are locally based and defend thier neighbourhoods.

Basically the government armed anyone that did not join the rebels and told to defend their neighborhoods.

But as of 2012 Sunnis are only a minority of the main government forces.
I thought the majority of rank and file foot soldiers are Sunni. Even things I've read this year say that.

Unless those figures count Sunni militias allied with SAA

People like grandpa think it's an army of 170,000 which is 90% Shia fighting their Saudi/Qatari rebels in the Sunni heartland. A load of bullshid.

They are adding loyalist Sunni millititas to the total figure and getting a percentage that is majority Sunni.

On the ground it is different.

There is no Syrian army left. It is a Shia and Nusayri militias backed by Russian and Western air power.

In this URL, http://theglobalcoalition.org/partners/, 68 countries have been listed. Keep in mind that nations like Russia, Iran, Syria, Israel, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mali, Cameron, China, Philippines, and Pakistan are not listed even though they are directly or indirectly participating it. So the total countries waging war against the Islamic State is 80 or more.

Some filthy inexperienced armed monkeys winning against an army funded by the US? With 13 billion dollars? Fuck, we sure need Saddam now.

Don't waste your time with Gurey and FAH. They think Russian involvement will save Muslims, as their "sheikh" Imran Hosein has told them. Anything they hear from RT, SputnikNews, and PressTV is taken as an absolute truth. They'll never hear anything you say!
