Unfortunately in Toronto, someone will kill you because you live in a particular neighbourhood and then add to it, that you're Somali. You need to understand that a lot of these government housing neighbourhoods are mixed with people from all type of backgrounds. Its only Somali men targeting each other and gunning each other down.
Young Somali men are very committed to the gang life in Toronto and they're determined and willing to kill for their neighbourhood. Their neighbourhood is more important than anything else in their life. Unfortunately the time to move out of these neighbourhoods was 2005. It is impossible to buy property in Toronto or even rent when the starting price is 1,000,000 and more than $1,000/month.
Every single young Somali men in Toronto can be next, they all have a death sentence. Truly sad.

Toronto is large. Some areas are safer yet still affordable, but aren't "community housing". I don't think it's mandate, sxb.SuldaanMaplesyrup wrote: Sun Apr 16, 2017 6:31 amRenting in a decent neighbourhood is still very expensive in the GTA. I doubt many Somali families in Toronto can now afford much more than community housing/rough neighbourhoods, and as a result innocent people are being targeted.Sophisticate wrote: Sun Apr 16, 2017 6:00 amThat's the unfortunate part. Killers shouldn't be rewarded with a one-way ticket to the motherland.SuldaanMaplesyrup wrote: Sun Apr 16, 2017 5:48 am Because they do get away. Either no one talks and the case goes cold; or if they feel the cops are on to them, their parents will cut them a one way ticket back home.
Somalis in Toronto who didn't leave the hood yet have unfortunately screwed themselves over now that the cost of housing is soaring to the point that it's beyond reach to middle-class people, let alone poor Somalis. I would advise families with young boys to leave the city altogether.
The valuation of homes is through the roof. You have shack-sized bungalows selling for 1.1 million. If one is looking for some cash flow - look into American real estate. The thing is most Somalis aren't interested, due to "Riba". Anyway, I think it's better to pay a little extra than to live in affordable housing. There is a slight misconception, one does not need to actually buy property in Toronto in order to live in a safe neighborhood. I'm just saying being in the city is a tad more convenient than living in the periphery.

It don't matter where he lived thats beside the point. If Somalis want to kill you they will find you.
The new generation Somali yoith now days are deadly predators. They will shoot you or stab you or rob from you. In my days the 1990s all Somali youth did were play sport or go to School.
Now days its all about thug life and thugs wanna bees.

Killers aren't Somali, and the marxuum was not involved in gangs. The four accused are residents of the Parma Court housing complex, and are alleged to have a feud with some residents from the Chester Le neighbourhood, according to Shankaran.
Shankaran would not elaborate on the nature of the feud, but said that Farah was in no way connected to it.
“The only thing he did was be a resident of Chester Le Blvd.,” said Shankaran. He also said that calling Farah’s death tragic was inappropriate.
“Tragic would mean somehow he had something to do with his death,” which is false, Shankaran said.
“His life wasn’t senseless and pointless, but his death was.”
