well, muslims had slaves , muslim or not but there was a great reward to free them. that is how gradually islam wanted to get rid of this unhuman practice.

what I understood, the slave lady was bought from zinjibaar to harar and I guess my grandfather/or his father bought to serve his wife. she got pregnant and had a son. that son ive seen him, he was his 80s that time and he had our last name. so what I understood after his mom dead we adopted him. I am assuming he was freed as a child but still was our servant.

Sxb your first and second paragraph contradict each other. So you grandfather Sh Cali Suufi had child slaves too. :damn: Sxbow odayga kaarka haka gubin. Do you know how fucked up that is.

lol is sick and unimaginable , I don't want give you any history about slavery but its our bad history.

still cannot believe in middle of Africa, people could go and buy another human and be their servant!! nothing contradict. when your slave have baby , the baby is slave too and belongs to you. would you threw out a baby who doesn't have any one cause you bought their parent? of course you rise them and then they are free when they older. most slaves stay with the family who owned their parents cause they don't have roots in the land and you are only person they have.
