I remember back when I was new to this country and I was going to college, I used to drive taxis during the weekends to earn some extra cash. One early morning I saw a Somali guy passed out on the pavement in the middle of town. That kinda scarred me and made me to not even try alcohol, or any other drugs. Life is a constant, daily struggle. I am more than happy to face it as it's rather than "numbing" myself with alcohol.

There's also Mead which is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. This what Ancient people used to make alcohol from, beer made from Mead might be less harmful than mass produced ones I am saying might be because I am not sure 100%. Even craft beer might be better than industrial beer. But bottom line is they are all beer and if you can't stop drinking than try less harmful beers with low alcohol levels.
