Conferences, tennis courts, golf, charity committees, drought relief events, political gatherings, museums, career networking events, mosque activities, Somali festives, Eid gathers, good readers, book reading clubs, art galleries, just stay away from clubs; nightclubs.Disillusioned wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2017 2:59 pm I believe theres good people out there but I'm not sure how to find them. I said good not perfect not sure why you went on a rant. I don't watch bollywood and my expectations are very realistic.Jabuutawi wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2017 3:41 pm ^
Well, for starters, stop watching Hollywood/Bollywood movies. There are no perfect people out there; no knight in shining armor going to sweep you off of your feet and onto his horse's back and ride off to the sunset; no 2.5 kids, big house and white picket fence; no See's Candies and a bouquet of flowers every week; no petals on the bed.
Be realistic. Premium is paid to a woman under 25 years of age. Personally I do not give a second glance to a cajuusad north of 22. In other words, lower your expectation and ask a family or a friend who knows somone in your situation...and get to know the person well enough before you commit for life. Far too many quick divorces in the Somali diaspora is making a mockery of the institution of marriage. I am thankful my parents never succumbed to the temptations of Hollywood.
A novel idea: Marry a geeljire from miyi (badiye) and teach him how to use toilet paper in the West,. We all started somewhere,
.
Thanks for the ideas.Canuck2 wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2017 8:13 pmConferences, tennis courts, golf, charity committees, drought relief events, political gatherings, museums, career networking events, mosque activities, Somali festives, Eid gathers, good readers, book reading clubs, art galleries, just stay away from clubs; nightclubs.Disillusioned wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2017 2:59 pm I believe theres good people out there but I'm not sure how to find them.
