Kkkk Originally Oppressed you should have told that to the Djiboutians, who took UAE to court , not the other way around. You would think the Djiboutians would avoid corporate lawyers who always side with corporations, right ?original dervish wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2018 8:05 pm The London Arbitration Panel is not a court........it's staffed by corporate lawyers who , surprise surprise, find in favour of corporations 99% of the time.![]()

Djibouti is poor, inhabitable and expensive for a recognised country with such small population and dozens of foreign bases.
Very sad situation to be honest.
Can you imagine if SL had recognition, same population, stability (since 1880 no real conflict), foreign bases pouring in billions?
It is also one of the largest prostitution markets in Africa.
I’m not surprised DP is abandoning them.
Same guy visited SL and is loving it. More positive things than Djibouti.

I could post countless videos of your poverty but after a while it does get old.
Thankfully people in Djibouti haven't resorted to eating game animals like they do in Somaliland.
Congratulation brotherly Djabouti, you did the right think, Puntiland will be next.

Did you even read the article? With the train link between Ethiopia and Djibouti being modernised and China becoming Ethiopia's main investor, it will be a long time before Djibouti loses most of Ethiopia's custom. Being on the Bab Al Manded, Djibouti is the most strategic Somali territory hence the West will not allow China a free hand there if they try to impose themselves politically. No need to pray for Djibouti's downfall and hate on them considering how your own people have a lot invested in it.AbdiCushite wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2018 8:34 pmYes the Chinese who gave good will AU HQ to Africans, only to find out every inch of that building was wired so Chinese can listen in, you're happy about those guys ? They'll fuck djibouti over harder than UAE ever did, and UAE didn't even fuck djibouti over , djibouti entered the contract because it's a corrupt city state lead by a dictator who pocketed most of the funds. Now's he's mad because he lost his largest customer to Berbera lolzumaale wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2018 6:25 pmHow Djibouti Became China's Gateway To AfricaAbdiCushite wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2018 5:33 pm Djibouti has been trying for years to get control of the port back through the court systems , but they lost Feb 2017 and now they do this because legally djibouti signed a contract with UAE . They knew the stipulations before they signed , and now that they have forcefully took control of the port because the courts wouldn't get them out of the horrible 50 year deal they signed with UAE
"A London-based arbitration panel has found in favour of DP World in a long-running dispute with the government of Djibouti, over a port concession awarded to the company in 2014, the Dubai Government said on Tuesday.
The arbitration claim was initiated by Djibouti in 2014, claiming that DP World had made illegal payments to Abdourahman Boreh, the head of the country’s port and free zone authority, to secure a commission to operate the country’s Doraleh Container Terminal."
Djibouti already lost to UAE in court 1 year ago. Djibouti got shafted in the deal where UAE took control for 50 years , but nobody made djibouti sign it. In the end , this will blow up in Djibouti face as djibouti is 10000% reliant on the international community , and the numerous countries that have military bases in Djibouti because everyone now knows Djibouti is bad for business.
Tell me who's going to sign any contracts with djibouti from now on, now that everybody realizes Djibouti operates like this.

The Chinese have already moved in. No shortage of willing investors by the looks of it.![]()
Djibouti only kicked UAE out because UAE is operating in Berbera and we took Djiboutis largest client , ethiopia, off it's hands.

Are you smoking crack? There will be rail linking Berbera and ethiopia too, after they make the highway.zumaale wrote: Fri Feb 23, 2018 4:17 amDid you even read the article? Ethiopa owns 19% of Berbera Port , in the next 3-5 years they will swing all their business from Djibouti to Berbera , why the hell would Ethiopia pays Djiboutians when they could use the new port that they have ownership stake in ?

Re: Djibouti ends Dubai's DP World contract to run container terminal
Can any iidoor please explain how the modern 21st century container terminal in Djibouti....that presently handles MILLIONS of tonnes of freight annually, is gonna lose out to a dilapidated 19th century, silted up glorified jetty, with numerous shipwrecks and a few forklifts?
Please consider the facts on the grounds and not in your heads before responding.
Thank you and f*@koff in advance.
