It's hard to say, despite of the security issues, you can pretty much find any goods or services you wish for, if you have money. However the majority of people don't have money and jobs are hard to come by, therefore you can't really measure the living standards in Somalia today.

Thought provoking question there, Double D. From what I'VE read, S Land appears to be the more stable of them. But i'd like to hear what the more well informed here have to say about it. Cool

Common sense says peaceful areas will fare better and so it is. According to the World Bank and UNDP reasearch(Somalia Socio-economic Research 2002), therichest region in Somalia is Hargeisa(They do not recognise Somaliland so they use the old regional system). the second richest is Awdal. Third richest is Benadir, Togedher is fourth and sool is fifth followed by Sanag and Bari.

This clearly shows that Somaliland is by far the richest and that is because it is relatively peaceful and stable. It doesn't harm it is inhabited by the most intelligent, smartest, best looking, most well-endowed men and the prettiest(now covered like death) chicks.

This trend is confirmed by the UN's lates OCHA report which says Somaliland has "stability....dynamic cities, economic reconstruction.."

Other indicators are simply undeniable: biggest used airport is Hargeisa(7,000 passengers a month); biggest used seaport (Berbera although Bosaso is doing well too)

Galol

Now this is clearly biased statement...relatively peaceful? i gree, although many other places in somalia are, but the most intelligent, smartest and the rest is bias without any hesitation, well except the prettiest chicks...that i give it to you, eventhough all you can do personally is just watch them from a distance and admire, heck you cant even do that now since they're covered Laughing
