The UAE's objective of building this base is war of aggression . They would be in violation of The United Nations Charter, Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, The Convention for the Definition of Aggression, International Customary Law, Charter of the League of Arab States etc. Thus, If they do not meet the demands of the Somali government by aborting and suspending this project they'll have to deal with the consequences in the international stage. The SFG is seeking and prefers a diplomatic solution for this contention and enmity prior to initiating a case against the UAE in the ICJ and proceeding to challenge it on the world stage. The UAE is a important trading partner and a potential ally, there is no need to escalate and intensify these differences. Somalia would happily give this base to the UAE if they came via the correct route, although the UAE claims it was due to an agreement with Sheikh Sharif's administration that led it to pursue this project. The UAE would not want this to reach the ICJ either as it would wreak and demolish its reputation as a responsible law abiding nation, not to mention it would have to deal with the wrath of the US which is committed to Somali unity and sovereignty. Nevertheless, we can't act now as it would be premature and impetuous.
