Ask them why in 2019 Cabudwaaq still has not one road. Whats the use of a university if students have to travel through bacaad to get there?Voltage wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 4:13 pm The funny thing is I have two first cousins visiting Caabudwaaq right this second. One was in Gedo right before in Beled-Xaawo.
All I hear from them is how excited people on the ground are and how there is so much development and commerce going on partly because of the capital flowing in from Farmaajo.
Farmaajo is Somalia president and not MX governor but the people on the ground themselves are giving him credit for what is going on according to my cousins. Wallahi meel kasto in Beled-Xaawo and Caabudwaaq there is expansion and development because of him.
Look at even this SNU expansion with Caabudwaaq as first branch outside Mog. This is the single best investment that could ever happen. Even if Farmaajo does nothing else, making this happen will be worth it for educating our people.
From what I heard Farmaajo just dislikes corruption, losing/unaccounted for money, and not having a serious plan/proposal. This is where the clash happened between him and the Marehan going to his office for funding early on.
Waa lays fahmay hada.
Marehan do not even have to go through the relevant ministry. They just go straight to Farmaajo and he signs off, but to do that the district commissioners/mayors have to bring a serious proposal/plan and they have to be willing to have Farmaajo put someone on oversight to track them. Once they hash thay stuff, Farmaajo personally signs off and the funds are allocated. That actually improved service delivery and there is a lot of quiet development happening in MX lands because of this.
I heard this from people who closely work with the governor of gedo (the reer siyaad guy from Kansas)![]()

Grandpa, to this day I don't know why the old government did not include Caabudwaaq and Balanbale in the main road although from what I heard it had to do with national security and the Ethiopian aggression.
Secondly as Turbulence said above, a road is going to be built to link Caabudwaaq to the north/south highway

It is a joint venture between Marehan and the Ministry of Education.UgaaskaBarakaysan wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:10 am The building of the University was from the shacab that hails from the area. The Prime Minister came for the cermonial dagax dig
Also the guy in the video who came to see the update SNU rector (president) prof Jimcaale who is Abgaal
The deputy rector of SNU who has been linking the Marehan diaspora to the SNU/Ministry of Education for the joint fundraising is Prof Adan Guuleed Shabeel Carab (Marehan/Reer Kooshin)

Im talking about INSIDE the city, it shouldn't be hard to implement a cobblestone road program which is much less expensive than asphalt. Why wait for government? Where's the diaspora? Perhaps we should fundraise for such critical infrastructure. Even Rer Baidoa are ahead of us and Norway helped them. Wheres our share?Voltage wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2019 6:59 pm Grandpa, to this day I don't know why the old government did not include Caabudwaaq and Balanbale in the main road although from what I heard it had to do with national security and the Ethiopian aggression.

Grandpa, any heavy infrastructure like that needs a strong local administration. Unfortunately Caabudwaaq has shared that with the rest of Somalia.
Even Hargeisa and Somaliland called on the UN to build what they called a "bridge" but was really few yards of a stepping stone over a ditch.

Thanks for the clarification. I believe more projects are necessary through isxilqaan just like the Balanbale Hospital that was built a few years back. The Diaspora group I'm apart of had a big hand in that and we will definitely put up our money repeatedly for the hormar of our deegaans.Voltage wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:03 pmIt is a joint venture between Marehan and the Ministry of Education.UgaaskaBarakaysan wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:10 am The building of the University was from the shacab that hails from the area.
