You are mixing national politics with local politics once again.

At the regional level:
MX and Hiraab interest do not clash infact we have mutual interest in the realization of Galmudug. Do not be fooled by the theatrics of Xaaf and ASWJ, its internal Hiraab issue nothing to do with MX.

Is this Sahal guy mentally ok

1) Why would he give up a "special status" to someone who is as capable as he is. For instance, Puntland doesn't have a bigger population than Hirshabelle. It doesn't have more resources. They don't produce anything that is critical or vital for the nation. To the contrary, they live off the fruits and vegetables shipped from Beledweyne. And here he concedes 'special status' to them as to elevate them above the rest, which is realy unfortunate. This is one of the reasons why Puntland is bolden and brazen. They deal with newborns like Sahal who know nothing about politics, and are, certainly unconcerned about the future. A guy who lives in a desert has taught them his superiority and he takes it to the bank.

2) He hates Farmaajo for the simple reason of eliminating Alshabaab, the real enemy that has caused many suffering and deaths, especially against Hutu civilians and politicians. He hates him for sending troops to the Gedo region where Kenya was starting to build borders within Somalia, and basically created a buffer state to protect its interests and also reset the maritime borders. The population in the border regions were also being abused and raped by KDF.

How can you deal with people like Sahal who are so naive that they give up their rights so someone else can feed them, when that someone else has less resources. I am really beginning to think Puntland has human capital which is more important than natural resources. These newborns are basically saying Puntland take what you want just give us some cash and we are good. I fear when I look at Hutu politicians, I am afraid they will be slaves in the next 50 years. Not in terms of traditional slavery with plantation and housing chores but in terms of socioeconomic status. They might be a controlled group in cities and towns, while they fight and kill each other, and they are segregated from society.

Its embarrassing to think Farmaajo is only being alienated because of historical animosity between MJ/MX, but because he is the vanguard of Hutu interests. Farmaajo has the ability to sign off on the stuff that Puntland wants and would be treated as a hero, but he knows that is not good for Hutu's and Somalia.
