Gedo is actually quite safe compared to other regions in the South Central. All the towns are under government control and most road networks are safe from Al Shabaab bandits. There are few pockets of Al Shabaab in some countryside areas but they are weak and usually do I. E. D attacks once in a long while.IRONm@N wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 10:16 pm Gedo isn’t even safe place to hold elections, some parts are controlled by Alshabab and other parts by clan militia that are in clashes with Kenya.
Kismayo is the only place where there is semblance of law and order and has the infrastructure to held elections as it did the last to times
They main problem in Gedo is the Kenyan airstrikes or Kenyan abduction and killings. And they usually happen the surroundings areas of Ceelwaaq. Don't forget Ceelwaaq is a border town. This is Kenyan aggression and if anything this act has united the folks in Gedo even more not even between Marehan's but between border clans like Garde, Murrule and even our Dirs. Even other clans from Middle Jubba and beyond.
