Just wanna point out some facts regarding general qs. The site was created pre-twitter/fbook to give somalis a foothold on the net. Services included very popular news, chats rooms, these forums, matrimonial, business listing, web directory, many more sections... The rule of thumb is retire/archive each section as soon as interest declines - it was never intended for business or competition.

The forums are here because they are run by actual users. More discussion sites with different flavors are actually good for the public.

ERRORS
There are two types of errors: site errors and forum errors. I am more interested to know about forum specific errors. No user data or other important info will be lost if upgraded to the latest version but many in-house add-ons will need some modifications. All global errors are logged and archived.

If you see things like bad gateway, 5xx error, blank page, connection taking too long, etc. these are site errors, mostly caused by some idiots with Chinese IPs who have been trying to get access to the servers constantly since God knows when. It is a constant battle.

There has been countless errors over the years, as evidenced by countless threads. Don't count on any fixes or upgrades. An upgrade would have happened if it was possible.

That could mean losing part or the entire database (users, threads, posts, etc). Over the years, the site has been maintained with poor & erratic coding, hence the many errors one encounters. It's no wonder there are only about 10 or less active users.
