But for some strange reason, MJ betrayed and expelled MX from Gaalkacyo (I still to this day don't understand why Abduallhi Yusuf did this, no one does) which then culminated into the standoff for Kismayo we're seeing today.

I didn't know about galkacyo. It was Morgan who betrayed MX and tried to kick them out of Kismayo.

Some say MJ didn't want to continue the fighting whereas MX wanted to keep pushing the USC southward, the final blow was when MX refused to join Puntland, so Abduallhi Yusuf and the SSDF + puntland elite after expelling them phoned up Morgan and told him to fall in line - Morgan was nothing without Puntland support in terms of financial aid and providing weapons - he didn't really have a choice in the matter.
