gedo, sool and bari are probably the only gobols in somalia where one clan is over 70 percent of the population.

Luuq is probably the only district in gedo where marehan make up 60 to 75 percent of the population, where as baardheere, beeledxaawo, dolow, buurdoobe, ceelwaaq and garbaharey are 90 percent or more marehan.

Bardere and luuq are well known Cawliyahan (ogaden) and rahanweyne towns. The genocide Barre committed particularly in Bardere is why SPM was created.

Ogaden and rahanweyne make up a sizeable majority expecialy in the riverine areas. Something which will have to be reclaimed sooner or later.
