Nah tbh majeerteen is probably the largest they have the most settlements plus the majeerteen from doolo move to mudug the shift is occurring in the sacad population which have been migrating to xamar for the last 30 years
MJ as a whole is becoming too much for everyone in both Mudug and Doolo, 30 years ago OG and MX dominated Doolo region undisputed, but after 91 slow and steady Cumar Maxamuud and Bicidyahaan have been expanding, decades ago people would laugh at the thought of Reer Khalaf and Mahad setting up shop in Wardheer, nobody's laughing now. It's why Makaahil made that mutual defence pact with Sacad, the region is going to get heated soon.
You’re forgetting Dhulbahante I think. Plus most of MXs moved from Mudug to Xamar or the Jubboyinka
That’s the best decision that they could’ve made mudug galguduud are slowly becoming inhabitable due to climate change in jubbaland you get nice rivers and farmland people in those regions need to take advantage of that and start widescale farming

Yes Ethiopian Rer bicidyahan and Rer Maxamuud as well as Rer khalaf basically created Buursalah in Goldogob district and made huge influx into Gaalkacyo town as well as creating a couple other smaller settlements in Gaalkacyo districts, this shifted the population balance in favour of MJ.

What about Awrtable, don't they have settlements south of their main town Burtinle ?
No tbh today burtinle is dominated by different Cumar maxamuud subclans especially reer mahad and reer Adan awrtable is outnumbered today in their own deegaan they don’t have a large population I doubt there even 70k today even leelkase has village in burtinle called faratooyo right before you enter the city unfortunately the demographics are not in awrtables favour it’s like what happened to dishishle in bosaso
I see it helps being majority of the town regardless of who else lives there since it aids in actually controlling the town, I know the population diversity of north Mudug is insane with all sort of clans, but MJ control the towns thats what matters, what of that town with the funny name Buryaqab ? who lives there now and who were the original inhabitants 30 years ago.

Bursalah, Bacadweyn, Buryaqab and Goldogob are easily bigger than Gelinsoor, Hobyo, Wisil and Harardheer, in this I agree, north Mudug has easily 3x the population of south mudug despite being smaller in area, this is why I always say area means nothing if it is not inhabited.
Yea the population is huge definitely the whole mudug is definitely over a million plus huge nomadic population as well especially in western parts mudug due to better grazing lands a proper census needs to be made I think the population of mudug + doolo combined is close to 1.5 to 2 million

Real, there's a silent agreement between MX and MJ spearheaded by the deepening relationship between reer Wagardhac and Cumar Maxamuud, we know Sacad are trying to establish a foothold in the region. MX (especially after Saaxo joining PL) have been receiving tactic support from MJ via weapons and intelligence, this has obviously spooked Makaahil and Sacad. Makaahil also believe that MJ should be expelled back to Mudug, they forget Cumar Maxamuud used to karbash them so relentlessly they were forced to share their grazing lands and watering holes.

Mariix, they're more North side, you guys still have a heavy presence in Doolo and some clans want to see you all out, that Makaahil/Sacad pact is also aimed at you.
