It’s good too see delusinal secessionists getting involved in the politics of their country again after decades for hard khaatumo abuse. We welcome Khalid, Mahoka etc for supporting their candidates and choosing their leader whether it be Farmajo, Fowziya or anyone else who holds the key to their beloved ictirraaf

Mohoka, Russia has elections and so does Iran.
So to both NGM and you, there is actually a philosophical argument here presented by Peperino that shows one of the strongest differences between American-informed REPRESENTATIVE Democracy and British PARLIAMENTARIAN Democracy.
This is why you get stark contrast like Britain with NO WRITTEN CONSTITUTION and America WITH A WRITTEN CONSTITUTION WHERE THR FIRST 10 ARTICLES ARE THE BILL OF Rights.
The Bill of Rights basically says NO MATTER THE MAJORITY, WHO VOTES, HOW MANY VOTES ---NO ONE CAN TAKE THESE RIGHTS AWAY.
Which brings me to this;
Democracy from the American perspective is about INDIVIDUAL rights and freedoms.
An aspect of the expression of those rights and freedoms is "popularly" expressing it or "voting."
Voting itself the act is NOT democracy, it is one set of tools for expressing it like the right to protest, to petition justice, to expect equality under the law, etc
Social mobility and gender parity ARE in fact key measures of democracy just as Peperino said.
The UK Parliamentatian Democracy is different.
It is essentially a top down not bottom.up process of Democracy. It is rooted in a history of the ELITES revolting against the Crown for overtaxation.
This is why the British style Democracy can have a House of Lords that is entirely unchosen or a PRIME MINISTER who has not been chosen by thr people directly on the their INDIVIDUAL preference.
Where as thr US had a VOTING DEMOCRACY that enshrined Jim Crow amd Segregation.
So the US realized "voting" and a process about simply expressing choice is NOT necessarily"Democracy."
DEMOCRACY IS THE THE ORGANIC UNIT AT THE BASE OF DEMO--->1 person--->THE INDIVIDUAL AND HOW FREE THEY ARE (their Righs).

I love the US constitution you know why? It’s based on natural law that is from religion. Thomas Jefferson is my favorite founding father for the simple fact he studied history and the laws derived from faith. He even read the Quran for intellectual stimulation. He has baggage with his slave owning past but he was a man ahead of his time. Also, during his presidency he opened diplomatic ties with the first Muslim country - Morocco and didn’t care for their religion. He was a pluralist ngl. He was a libertarian in my eyes. Liberty is the greatest value I learned from America.Gubbet wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:32 pm Mohoka, Russia has elections and so does Iran.

Garxajis is bigger than darod, remember after all they took so much land from you guys. In fact they are the ones that cleaned you from large sections of k5 region including gashaamo and most of sanaag (darod now only lives in the small town of las qoray which is 3000 people max.Hennystreak wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 2:41 pm Fawzia unfortunately hails from a small clan in the north Somalia who under our political system only have 30 seats. She also isn’t allowed to be president as only landheere darood or hawiye can run for that seat in Somalia.
I think she has better chance running for deputy PM against Mahad Gulleed which is the seat reserved for their constituency![]()
