As for the last question about civilized---that is not the correct word, but yes, the Isaaq are more "cosmopolitan" than the average Faradheer, (Dir, Darod, Isaaq, Hawiye, Samaale---nomadic Somalis).

In fact at the base I would say two groups among Somalis are the most "cosmopolitan" historically and really one would not be surprised to find them historically connected to the biggest and longest trading emporiums of Somali territory; the Benadiri (,Gibil cad and Gibil madow) connected to historical Mogadishu and the "Isaaq" connected to historical Berbera.
