Greetings ans Salutations Mujaahids and Mujaahidas,
In my opinion, in some sectors of Ethiopian elites/leaders there is like an after thought...like wat if?
"Imagine Ethiopia recognizes Somaliland and it becomes a fully recognized country...knowing our somali neighbours the first thing they would do is to bring in Egyptian army...
Egyptian army in somalia is okay for Ethiopia...Egyptian army in Somaliland means they r at 150 kms from the ethiopian high plateau..that is very very scary."
Add ti that the natural preference of habeshas fir long term relation with eretrea..they dont want to bet everything ...the stakes r very high.
Why is Ethiopia still prevaricating over JSL recognition

Egypt is not interested invading Ethiopia. They may only interested to destroy The blue Nile dam. In this case they don't need to use ground forces. It's more likely turkish navy Will show up in our coast.

nearly exactly one month ago I made this particular thread yet today nothing has changed, Somaliland must work harder to convince our brotherly neighbour Ethiopia to formally recognise our independence and the way to do this is to do one of two things
A) change the terms of the MOU so that to make it a binding treaty it will include Somaliland and Ethiopia fully integrating into a single confederation
or
B) secretly let Ethiopia unofficially (but not formally) annex Awdal region only once Ethiopia and a few other countries first officially recognises JSL as an independent country

Re: Why is Ethiopia still prevaricating over JSL recognition
I have a better idea for u instead of giving them our land why should I give my awdal to them the ball is Ethiopia court if they want a military base and a sea out let we wil lease them land in exchange of recognition. If they refuse them a deal only if oil is found in Somaliland we can build them a canal from lughaya to Ethiopia a permanent sea out let for recognition and the entire hawd and reserve area to be given back to Somaliland then u have recognition and ur land inside Ethiopia and they can have a permanent sea out let this option only comes to the table if oil is found if no oil is found we keep the original mou The walanweyns have nothing to offer them other then garacad hobyo or merca if Ethiopia wants to go that route then they can go we keep our landenBigBreak wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 11:42 am nearly exactly one month ago I made this particular thread yet today nothing has changed, Somaliland must work harder to convince our brotherly neighbour Ethiopia to formally recognise our independence and the way to do this is to do one of two things

Khalid I hear you, Somaliland should publicly pressure Ethiopia to soon decide whether to go ahead with recognising our independence and finalising the MOU or we just completely cancel the whole agreement. There needs to be a deadline for Ethiopia to make up its mind
