I can understand where others are coming from, what is your point? Africa, Latin America are in the same boat. No long ago, Israel along with the U.S and Britain were alligned with the "White apartheid regime in South Africa".

History is cruel and it's never fair to anyone. Not even to jews. Why harp and atavistically cling to ancient iniquities? Everyone has been mistreated by someone else in civilisations long march.

Most problems are NEVER solved but are TRANSCENDED by more pressing modern problems. The task facing palastinians and most arabs is so great that righting ancient wrongs should be sensibly FORGOTTEN or at least let to be drowned out.

Look at the palastinian leadership (both religious and secular), they mostly tend to be ppl of the view "we must drive the jews into the sea, that is the only solution to our problems"... the rest of the arab world is not much better either. Not saying let's shake hands, forget the past since it was mostly out of our power, in the hands of foriegners (ie the brits) and make a better future for our children.

With the exception of small minority, most Isrealis really do want to put out the flames of their conflict with the Palastinians FOREVER. They have the leaders and society that genuinely desires peace. Palastinians on the other hand are led and brainwashed by punch of incompetent, corrupt, extremist fanatics... very few leaders on the horizon who can really direct their ppl towards the path of peaceful co-existance and eventual nationhood.

I must say your optimtism disturbs me, considering the human history of conquer and control, what reasons do you have to believe peaceful coexistence is possible under such great human ignorance and intolerance?.

Only two nations on this earth have been created on religious basis 1) Pakistan 2) israel.

The jewish state was designed on the premises of zionism. Politics in Israel is lame without the basics of zionism ( a dream to reclaim samaria and judeo). That is historical israel. HISTORY MATTERS!

Claiming that most Israelis want to live in peace with Palestinians is a false statement. There are some israelis (a minority) who want to live in peace but the majority want to see the borders that stretch from sinai to Lebanon.

To discuss this issue you have to look at what happened in Europe in 1939-1945; the creation of Israel in 1947/48 when plaestinians were deported.

Israel is the only country in the world today that practices religious apartheid. It is the only country in the world that is allowed to use its HISTORY to further a sick goal.

The question of the palestinians is not one of arabs or muslims. It is a question of justice. It is a question of colonialism. It is a question of civilizaton.

Democracies don't go to war with each other and do pretty god damn good job at looking after its own ppl. That has been true to this day. And the reason for that is, they have to much too lose with little to gain from warring. The cause for human conflict has always been GREED and POWER. Democracies coupled with capitalism has somehow found a way to positively channel human's insatiable hunger for power and greed in a positive direction. One doesn't have to be a leader of a nation to be BOTH powerful AND rich in democratic country. Hence, no need to go to war when you can get what you want peacefully. No need to recklessly risk everything you built for yourself by supporting wars that will gain you very little if anything at all. That is why I think there is hope for humanity and it is in democracy and capitalism.

DD, even the democracy you cradle will inevitably fall apart. Democracy is system, and like all systems it depends on who is running it. For now, demoracy is in the limelight, but like everything else the political cycle has its recession period too.

The Ummah that produced up to now the fiercest, truthful and noble mujaheedeen.
The Ummah that nasralaah, osma bin laden &co and many more are from!
