Cawar, you're joking, right ??? Canada's BEGGING for skilled refugees!!! Literally BEGGING!! And the vast amount of programmes designed to help the newly transplanted immigrant is vast!

Lord, yes, you are right. Even in this sites UK Forum, I see a lot of yardie immitation. (my main reason, initially, for going there to bust their ballz! Laughing ) But no, the U.S Public Ed system is vastly inferior to canada's and U.K's.

Q, youre right. To get into "college" (Uni) there (US), it don't take much. Canada, on the other hand, is like UK in that the standards are much higher.

'Yaddy, good point

'Heart, we're better! Laughing Laughing Laughing
Lord diplock...american high school education is the worst in the western world. Even the best high school in america can't compete with european high schools, not even with japenese...

American kids do better than all the kids in middle and elementary school but as soon as they get to high school-BOOM- Dumbville.
With the exception of the old 2 (Oxford and Cambridge), none of our university can compete with their counterparts in America, academically and in terms of resources available to them.

The good thing about American universities is they attract large donation from their ex-students, here, the moment they kaalin-break, whoosh they're gone for good.

Not a CHANCE bruv!!!! Certain schools ARE better (Cal Tech, MIT, ) but for the average Uni, you're curriculum is far beneath ours.

LordDiplock...very true..American universities, both public and private, collect large donations from alumni and private organizations and interest groups. They also get large tax breaks from government if they do certain thins like accepting more minorities..On top of that, they charge tuition rates which increase every semester.

""We dont have the best schools in England, I think France and most of continental countries have better system. walaal, dont be fooled by the booming university enrolment, vast numbers of these degrees are worthless, the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and Institute of Directors are not amused by universitygraduates, they are quite scathing in their criticisms of them. one word they said was: unemployable""

Lord diplock, if you are talking about SCHOOLS then i agree with you. The schools here are not in a good state at all. I for one went to the most appalling school one can imagine and I still got 11 GSCE' S from it. I say it' s way too easy to blame the system for failing an individual. I think you have partial control in what your results will reflect and that' s by working the hardest you can.

Colleges however are very much up to standard especially sixth forms. University enrolment is a tough cookie. I don' t know whether you have ever applied but they do put you through hell especially if you do anything science/maths/computer based. They'll only give you an conditional offer if your expected grades are very high and your actual exam results must be in line with what you have been predicted. Employment depends on what field you want to go into an whether that degree is something worthwhile and not fashion design or art things like that. That to me is a waist of time.
