Women who live by themselves(kaligood, no one else) waa sharmuutooyin. I'm not saying all women, I'm just saying the young ones who live alone.. A woman should live with her parents till the day she gets married.

How about if the family flat is overcorwded and not conducive to an environment of studying, how about if there is domestic abuse, physical or emtotional violence like a "Sanngub parent"? How, how how? Do you think that all women who live with their parents, or with husbands are hollier than others and not fornicating? What you stated is all about culture. Iimaan is central to the Islamic belief. If you have Iimaan, you don't fornicate, insult, steal, or abuse anyone.

It is all about Iimaan, either you got it or not, and has nothing to do with your living arrangements. If one wants to fornicate, nothing can stop them whether they live with their parents, or, their husbands or, with their wives. There are many reasons why they leave the home front. No girl will leave a good and caring family, and if she does, there must be some compelling reasons for it. Your above comments reminds me the opinions of my 50 year old auntie, who considers her views as facts and stereotypes different group of people who don't share with her similar views. Laughing

Mohawk, it's not about that. The girls I'm talking about are those who only have 3-4 siblings and yet decide to move out because they want to practice that whole "freedom" right by the Americans. And this whole abuse you are speaking of, we never had that when we were in Somalia. It was called "tarbiyat." The girls these days refused to go by our culture, the only thing they know is 911. No girl should leave her family no matter what the circumstances are. There are girls that I've seen who left their families. When their fathers were dying, they didn't even bother to show support. When I asked them why, they said "he never paid attention to me, he wasn't a good father." They're watching too much Oprah and Dr. Phill.
