Think about what you're saying. You aknowledge that others used algebra before there were such ppl as 'muslims'. Then you go on to say that muslims invented Algebra. Do you not see how you're contradicting yourself? The title of 'inventers' goes to the FIRST ppl to have used it. Since Algebra, regardless of what you call it, was in use long before the arrival of Islam then we can confidently say Islam didn't 'invent'.

Mind you that this is not to say arabs didn't contribute to the development of Algebra. They did, immeasurably. The name ALGEBRA is accredited to arab. Some fields of Algebra were invented by arabs. But Algebra as we know it today is the product of MANY cultures and ppls. Lets give everyone their fair credit.

i dont know if muslims are the true inventors os math, but i do know they invented the word algebra came from Arabic, its originally arabic, so it could mean that they invented it.
