[quote="Demure"] Dhuusa, You're being a stubborn little guy again with your I must win attitude. Again debating according to the dictionary is engaging in an argument by discussing opposing points (Note no winning or loosing).[quote]
That I am obstinate SOB is no revelation. I don't entertain failure either, I play to win. And always do.
Now, the dictionary also says this about SPORT:
1. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
2. A particular form of this activity.
3. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
>I don't see WINNING or LOSING anywhere, do you? But you'll agree with me that in the course of a particular sport someone wins and someone loses, right? Formal debates ARE sports with long tradition. You participate to win or come out having the upper hand. Watch all the classic debates, NEVER will you see any debater admitting to being wrong or uncertain about his position/s. That is the task of the adversary.
Having said, we're getting a little sidetracked. There is no dissimilarities of views regarding the message of your maiden post. I agree with you that we, ALL of us, should refrain from appeals to personal attacks instead should strife to tackle the issues raised.
