LionHeart-112, that's a real character, though I don't remember his real name. I remember one day when he forced me and other kids to restrain a kid who was lazy and damiin. He put bisbaas la shiiday in the kid's mouth. You can visualize the reaction of the kid. I regret what I did to restrain the kid, but I had no choice.

The people that keep me grounded and well with the help of the almighty (SWT) are my parents who have always backed me up in whatever I do. There harsh approach(at times) in raising me up has definately made me "grow up" alot quicker and made me a more responsible young women. I hope and pray to allah that my day( death) comes before there's because frankly I just couldn' t face it.
I also want to mention my 10 brothers/sisters and my father' s second wife who I consider my second mother and thank them ever so much for their love and prayers. My cousins who are my best friends and my gang of 5 friends. My girls Very Happy who I deeply love. Their friendship means alot to me than anyone can imagine rose

Cawar, let's just say that he taught in Hodan, where I lived at the time. The family with blind kids whom I mentioned before lived near the dugsi. No, he wasn't "very cruel"; his punishments weren't frequent, and he used other methods of punishment like whipping with a stick.

Lion, why don’t you just send an appreciation card or thank you card to those people who helped you, so they would be happy to know how much you respect and that you are so grateful what they have done for you?

Wise-Man....That's not the Islamic way...u don't praise people in their presensce or let them know how good they are...If you do that, then their egos can get inflated and they might become arrogant. ..The Islamic way is to say good things about people when they are not present.

greeting cards are for hall mark sissies. Very Happy

Lion-heart, you would have a point if you would not post this topic. Secondly, if we are talking about the Islamic way, it is better not to praise whether they are present or absent. However, I did not say praise them, I said tell them how much you value their friendship with you and I think that is better than posting in here where every ciyaal suuq puts his fake and irrelevant two cents. If I am not mistaken, you already have seen some irrelevant replies…

Wise-Man....My friends don't frequent this website so they are not going to see this..
And this is not really about them, although i'm very appreciative of them. This is to remind Muslims who are worried, depressed, or stressed out that regardless of our troubles, there are good people whom we should be appreciating...I'm trying to get people to focus on the good things in life like good friends..My threads are never really about what people think they are about. Wink

No matter what you say, whether it'd be online or in life, some1 will always criticise it or ridicule. You can't worry about that.

While i have gotten couple of irrelavant posts, there about 5 people who made great contributions...These are the posts i care about.

By now, i thought you knew that i don't care much about what people say. Smile U can't spend your entire life worrying about childish people.

A great person in my life right now would have to be my girl friend. Before we started dating we were good friends. She understands me more than anyone and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. Smile
