If you are not 100% Somali, then you can not be considered Somali. If your blood is tainted/diluted with other races, say for example, your great grandpa was half Somali half wax kale, then you definetely are out of the circle, you can not pass the Somali litmus test.

Any Farah/Halimo who is dreaming of sleeping around and producing some mullato assed piglets, keep them in the realm of the environment you beget those ugly creatures and never bring them to Somalia, if you for some reason get home sick and decide to come home, leave those products, or better yet, kill them prior to your departure

Yes they are. My mother speaks better somaali then most somaalis. She walks like one talks like one and she cooks a might fine hilib suqaar with potatoes Cool

Some of my reer abti think they are arab. Thats fine. But thats usually a cause of being in Yemen after the civil war. However the older generation and quite a few of the younger ones consider themselves skinnies. They don't speak arabic and some although extremely weird are as black as a habr gidr Shocked Laughing

Lug

Why do I get a horrible feeling you are developing a sense of humour? It is very basic I have to admit but the green shoots of it are just about emerging. A kombo joke? whatever next?

Lets hope it doesnt go way below the comedy radar of kids like ceelgaab.

If your father is Somali you will be considered Somali no matter what, even if you are 10th generation German constantly having children by German women and look as white as a Scandinavian.

If your father is something else than you will probably be absorbed into some other larger tribe, provided you speak the language.

Ceelgaab

correction: my interspecies liasons was never a dream but as a non-mixed race, pure-born Somali a very real situation indeed and part of my cultural heritage

My first love was 6 feet something lady with the longest, coolest eyelashes imaginable. She walked with gentle grace epitomising Salad Derbi's classic of "she never presses hard on the ground..she tiptoes"

When she `flamed' meaning sang in her lingo Um Kulthum was put to shame by the depth of the melancholy.

The fact that she spat, chewed and did her bit in polluting planet earth with her flatulence meant not a thing to me; I was still in love. I even named her Horseeed my favourite football team and she didnt mind!

What kind of human girlfriend will allow you to be named after your team?

You should it try it soon mate it is good stuff.

Ceelgaabo,

As you may be aware of, Somalis always regard a Somali if his father is Somali... regardless of where the mother hails from.... That is our culture..But on the other hand if the mom is Somali the child is never regarded as Somali....They call him "missioni"...

But I believe the environment(home) the child grows up always plays a role....If the Somali mother or father lets the other partner to dominate her or him their children will be raised more like their non-Somali parents... I have two uncles and two brothers who are married to a European wives... One of the uncle's children are more European than Somalis.... But the rest are more Somalis than Europeans....

One of my best friends is married to a European guy... walaahay when I visit her house I feel like I am in Somalia.... Every wall is decorated with something that takes you back to Somalia...Her husband speaks fluent Somali her children at the age of 2 and 4 their first langauge is Somali even though they reside in the USA... missioni is the by product of an italian father and somali mother sister KAM. But the rest holds true. Somali mothers and non somali fathers are more likely to retain somali culture then a non somali woman and somali man.
