huuno, where do we get that we pray five times? from the hadith. from another set of hadiths, the shiici, we get three times. but from the qur'an, we only get twice: the two ends of the day, and the coming of night. ("wa aqiimuu al-salaat daraafayi al-nahaari wa zuluffan min al-layli" see 11:114, sura al-hud)

if it were up to them, we would be praying all day and all night. do you know how many prayers were first offered in the hadiths? Laughing

You said that you fast and pray... How do you pray? How do you fast? We are only taught how to do them through ahadiith so it seems that you believe in some of them and that (along many other things) makes you a hypocrite. You only pick what's nice and easy for you and listen to your desires and same time you reject everything else. Islam is the only reason why we are created to this world (well some are fuel for Hell). It's not a game or hobby, it's whole life. So you either take all or reject all.

There are numerous ayaat in Qur'an telling us to obey the Messenger (scws) in everything he (scws) tells us to do but still you reject him (scws) and same time you claim to follow the Qur'an... Even in Qur'an your action is cursed. Read about Qowmu Luut...

salahwhatever, i only accept the hadith, oral history and history that agrees with the qur'an... when it comes to faith. when it comes to otherwise, i only rely on scientific reason. i toss a hadith when it contradicts the qur'an.

there is a large historical facts of how muhammad and his peers prayed. and some of them are found with the unexpected. the good thing about islam is that it came to a world of critics. however unfairly questioned, many non-muslims who ridiculed our faith ended up preserving our history Laughing

fagashboy, wtf is wrong with you? where at all does it say that the jews and christians are going to hell? in fact, in the following, we are told many christians and jews are good people (which just reflects the world at large.) see:

"Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it. Nay.- Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright,-verily Allah loves those who act aright." (al-imran, 3:75-76)

now that we established they have good people, god also conforms that among them are believers in god;

"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah. They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account. " (al-imran, 3:199)
