Xuseen Xasan Rooble Suldaan Guuleed was killed at the age of 80 in 1892 by the Ogaadeens. His above poem :
Si alle iyo faduul baan ku imi sebedan xeebeede
Senge dhabarkii weymo iyo col baan saami ku lahaaye
Abadkayba saar iima qaban suuda doonyah'e
Sahlanaa amuurtaydu sow lalama sooyaamo.
That poem was composed in late 1880's , even his son Guure Xuseen Xasan was killed in late 1920's at rip old age in Awaare.

Carfigu reer Ducaaliyo anuu igu cillaallaaye

Xuseen Xasan killed over 200 Ogaadeens in his life time, at an old age as most nomad warriors he couldn't ride his horse and raid , he was captured during a tribal war by young Ogaadeens in 1892, the elders were praying , having heared his name , the Ogaadeen Imaam recoginzed him, but the young Ogaadeen 'waranle' released him. The Ogaadeen Imaam then ceased praying and ordered the young Ogaadeens to recaputre him. After a long debate , the Ogaadeen decided despite his old age to excute him, arguing that his exploites can't be forgiven.
Qamaan Bulxan and the Ogaadeens generally are good poets, but i wouldn't accord the Xaarti such honor. The Ciidagale are the best among the Isaaq and even the Somal at large, followed by the Ogaadeens, the Xarti have no antiquity in Somali poetery beyond Cali Dhuux a mere lad as Salaan Carrebey always dismissed him:
Anna garbood lama ciyaaree gari haday joogto
Ma gudboonin giclahan wakhtiga soo gadaal baxaye.
My favourit are poems not poets, Cabdi Gahayr:
Mar baan idhi tolkaa badh laa, lays tix galin waaye
Mar baan idhi ragi weys tirsanayaaye, talo xumaan guurso
Mar baan idhi tabaalaha aduun, tacabur oo jiido
Mar baan indhi iskaba toobad keen, tii Allley noqone.
Qawdhan Ducaale Suldaan Guuleed to the Ogaadeen Xarbi Dheere:
Xarabow gabaygu waa kaa tashaqay waana kaa tagaye
Waanaa kaa tawaawacay hadaad toosi leedahaye
Adiga iyo Tumaaladuba horaad taran ku weydeeene.
And Cige Aw Cali's response to Cabdi Gahayr:
Cabdow gabaygu waa kaa qaldamay waanu kaa qaloocsamaye
Waanu kaa qandooday sida qododka waaweyne
Qorkaa laga idleeyaa intu kuu qarsoonyahaye
Qiimigii afkaagii ka madhay qaana kugu reebye
Qorshahba adoon gaadhin baad qolo ku waabtaaye
Quwiilaan ku dhaartaye hadaan qeydo kugu yeesho
Qasab waxan ku yeelsiin karaaa qaada buuraha'e
When Cabdi Gahayr heared the poem, he remarked he liked the last line and then he got up and took a rock and said to the crowd her is my share of the mountain , let Cige Aw Cali remove his part.
