History is not your strong suit. Read the Richard Turnbull, Daarood conquest of Jubbaland
Have you ever heard of Cabdiraxmaan Mursal, the Cawlyahan Warrior who killed the Entire English military detachment at Sarinley in 1917. He was fighting the English for 14 years.
There were 3 uprisings against English rule in Jubbaland between 1900 and 1917 and they were all Daarood.

Cilmile.... If Caghdeer had been any smarter, they would have held Kismayo when the Habar Gidir captured it TWICE for them.
SPM = So Pathetic Movement.

Galol,
I think, like me, you are old enough to remeber that Lower Jubba used to return 4 Ogaadeen deputies in the parliamentary election before 69, 2 of them brothers, Hilowle Macalin used to represent Jamaame and His less distinguished brother who also used to be regulary returned to the Assembly.
Hilowle, later on the owner of Coca Cola bottling company of Xamar, served in many cabinets, the highest position being Defernse Minister.

Abdiwahab,
Cagdheer Caardheer
Only women take notice of their long feet and their long organs what is this obsession with Ogaadeen feeet. Are you curious whether those huge feet indicate a correspondingly impressive size in another area?
All kidding aside, the Ogaadeen deserve our respect and moral support for their contribution to Somali history, religion and literature. As well as their lonely struggle to free Western Somalia from Ethiopian rule. All the other tribes who settle that land have abdicated their responsibility: Hawiye, Sheekhaal, Ajuuraan, Dhulbaante, Majeeteen, HY, HA, Cidagale, Arab, Bartire the list goes on.

Cilmiile,
I am a native bona fide Kismayo paesano, so how come if OG were fighting and resisting the Britons in the 1900, why would MJs claim to be the rightful owners of that region? Besides, MJs had more power and visibility than OGs during the Siad Barre era. When did it changed hands?

Yes I know of Hilowle macallin. he is famous for viositing an army base and pointing to a bowser truck something he never saw in his life. He asked the soldiers "war kan meeqaa ka dhaca"(how many rounds does this fire?)
To claim Kombo ownership of Kismayo is blatant lie. It is Biyamal, Jiidow, Tunni, Baajun etc territory. In other words our Dir brethren! So we have more claim to it than you guys. End of.

Sir Luggooyo
The land belongs to Somalis period. Daarood came in waves starting in the 1840s. Dhulbahante and Majeerteen came mostly by boat. There was an emigration wave at that time, The same way migration fever strikes the Somalis today(meel heblay ka dilaacday)
Mareexaan and Ogaadeen came by land through southward migration and occupied all of Gedo with the Ogaadeens moving as far as AFmadow and the countryside of Kismaayo.
Their numbers were increased by Daarood fleeing from the strife in the North as a result of Darwiish wars.
The city of Kismaayo itself was a Majority Harti Town(Majreerteen, Dhulbahante and Cawramale(warsangeli)) by the time the Italians took over in 1925 and for a short while in the 1890s it was actually under the rule of boqor Cismaan of Boosaaso who invaded it from the Sea.

I doubt it somehow. The hawiye are not united, not like they ever were.......maybe in a few months if the foreign troops blast in and attempt to forcefully impose a government on the people-----that could be an historic event to unite the hawiye. Kismayo is nothing to be uniting hawiyeÂ…. The mareexan on their own have never been seen as a traditional hawiye enemy as far as I know and the ceyr have pretty much pissed off the other main hawiye players. The only way the habargidir would unite and I mean just the habargidir is if the majeerteen were to fight alongside mareexaan and ogaadeen against ceyr. The abgaal are only likely to join in the event of a xabashi invasion, same goes for the xawaadle, murusade etc etc.
There wasnÂ’t really much of a daarood vs hawiye war and I donÂ’t think there will be one now.

History this hirtory that blah blah blah...etc. This is now, it should be the battle of the strongest (without foreign assistance) and wealthiest survives and the weakling rest should just be happy to exist.
