I've lived for six months or longer in:
Port-au-Prince
Boston
Sierra Vista, AZ
Watertown NY
Augsburg Germany
Ulm Germany
Darmstadt Germany
Sarajevo
Saudi Arabia
Mogadischu
Djibouti
I hated Port-au-Prince, which is one giant open sewer. Watertown NY is BORING and COLD. Saudi Arabia socks dead donkey d!cks, miserable place with miserable people. Otherwise, I really liked the other locations, which had certain traits I found appealing.
Other places I have visited that I liked a lot:
Mukdahan Thailand. Intriguing little city right on the Mekong.
K'bri Dehar Ethipia. Dusty, forgotten backwater with poor infrastructure but an enchating place nevertheless. Hard to explain.
Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. My favorite African city. Cheap, big mix of different cultures, fabulous women.
Harar, Ethiopia. Also an enchanting place. Surrounded by Khat fields, an old, fabeled city. Not quite as interesting as Dire Dawa though.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A little on the touristy side, but the quaint Bavarian architecture amid the alps is nice. Good skiiing.
Nairobi - I love this bustling city. Eastleigh is great fun. Very cheap.
Mombassa - Again, a little too touristy, but the night train if you go first class, from Nairobi to Mombassa, can't be beat. And Tiwi beach offers some inexpensive, romantic accomodation.
Kingston, Ontario. I like the place. Some nice European architecture. Not too big, not too small. Right on Lake Ontario. Cold in the winter though.
Quebec. I found the city to be attractive, with a nice European flair. Some pleasant, friendly women. American friendly too, which was surprising.

Been to:
Israel
Jordan
Somalia
Kenya
Tanzania
Zimbabwe
Zambia
Italy
France
Sweden
Denmark
Nigeria
Zaire
Angola
Burma
Nicarauga
Panama
Belize
My father worked for an international organization and we travelled around pretty much. Kenya ranks as my favorite place especially Malindi, Tsavo, and Naivasha.
The weirdest joint was the Zaire. Its a very green, land is rich and the only place where i felt very scared.
