mine,when the civil wr happened,i got lost during the choas as a child when my family was fleeing and we got robbed by our own body guards that we paid to protect us so they can get us outta somalia and i had to witness girls and their mothers get raped.its long story of how i found my family,i get teary thinking about it.but at least i live to tell about it sadly some of those people didnt.

The word "shocking" has sysnonyms like staggering, astounding, startling or appalling. The dictionary also explains it as an intense surprise, horror or disgust.

I have felt lately all the definitions of the words with the exception of "disgust". Apalling? yes, intense surprsie? yes, in fact, sometimes when I remember out of the blue what happened to me few eeks ago, I find myself mumbling the words "That is really shocking".
