IÂ’m sure this is a case of putting one and one together and getting four. Sure there is confirmed uranium in Galgaduud and other parts of central Somalia but the idea of the UIC selling uranium to Iran right now is just laughable. Anyone that suggests that obviously doesnÂ’t know the situation in Somalia.

Eyes...maybe you do...and you can enlighten us more..
I was just reading the article on NY Times..here is an excerpt:
"The fighters were paid a minimum of $2000 for their service, the report says, and as much as $30.000 was to be given to the families of those killed, with money donated by a number of supporting countries"
AND..
"The report also indicates that Iran have sought help in its quest for uranium in Dusa Mareb, the home-town of Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, the leader of the Islamist allaince in Somalia..the report adds that there were two Iraninas in DUsa Mareb engaged on matters linked to exploration of uranium in exchange for arms"..
I tend to believe that this is not all exaggerated!!!!

Cawar, there is confirmed uranium there but there is no evidence that it is being supplied anywhere. When it comes to uranium, the Iranians can get that from anywhere. Somalia has other bigger strategic importance than that.
About the fighters, one thing I do know is that they lied about Ceyrow fighting in Afghanistan. The young man never even went to Afghanistan, and if they lied about him, they are lying about this too. It is however true that mujahideen fighters and martyrs are compensated for their sacrifices and last case I heard the figure was about 20,000, but I guess 30,000 is also conceivable.
$2000 is the amount being paid to the families of the Somali mujahideen that died in the battle against the warlords. Hopefully the figure will rise. But anyway, with the Islamic system IÂ’m sure any widows and orphans left behind will be well taken care off.
The UIC does not need weapons from any country. There is a free market out there when it comes down to it and they have plenty of rich individuals supporting them plus they have enough income from huge resources in the richest land in Somalia.

Excuse the word..but you reek of hypocrisy..and you dont even hide it.
1)Who said that there was evidence that the uranium has been supplied to Iran already?? re-read the report plz.
2) So they lied(I doubt...but it could happen) about one guy..so they must be liers...and Osama Bin Laden wasnt responsible for 911...is that what your trying to convince others to swallow...or is this a blinded non conditional...no rational support for the ICU?? well for onething...if you think they cant commit a sin or a humanly mistake...that says there is a lot to be desired about your intensions...
3)ICU does not need weapons??? ooh...I didnt know they had weapon factories in xamar...and guess what ?? except for that 40 Mill...that A/Qasim stole in the name of all Somalis(another traitor ICU and you blinfoldly believe in) who provides the money to buy those arms?? the few ceyr bussiness men in Xamar or the welfare collecting few thousands in the diaspora??? give us all a break..

Gedo, when I say rich individuals. IÂ’m not referring to ones in Somalia lol. IÂ’m talking about individuals outside, somali and not so Somali. In the middle least, in Africa etcÂ…
Right now, the UIC is not receiving military support from any specific country however itÂ’s enemies assuming that serves a great purpose in psychological warfare. Eritrea is just taking advantage of this situation to improve its current standing within the region, it is not supplying any weapons much less providing troops for the UIC.

Cawar,
1. It is a fact that the uranium and other natural gasses in central Somalia is confirmed. They didnÂ’t dig up for oil there, but IÂ’m sure there is oil as well. You can check it up if you want. The one thing about natural resources in Somalia that is confirmed is Uranium and it is mainly in Galgaduud. I donÂ’t need to make it up. I didnÂ’t even know much about galgaduud until I read a report ions ago.
2. In my book, a liar is a liar and until there is proof, I consider them liars. They did lie about Ceyrow, that is a fact. The fabricated that to connect Dahir Aweys to al-Qaeda since Ceyrow is like a student of Sheikh Aweys.
3. I didnÂ’t say they do not need any weapons. I said they do not need any specific country to get weapons. Money talks. In terms of the sources of finance, it is individuals and IÂ’m not going to disclose names. All you need to know is that they are both Somali and not Somali. The ceyr have been contributing to the UIC in wealth and men (may Allah reward them for it) but they are not the main and only contributors to the financial income of the UIC.
D.Dheerow, IÂ’m not ceyr. I do respect them however for being 100% behind the courts.
