Gedo:
Yes. Ali Nafto attacked Caydiid in mid 1991.
The Darood made a comeback and came as far as Caymiiska a couple of months after the 1st Abgaal-HG war.
That is when Caydiid who was very angry at the betrayl of the Hawiye was going to leave Xamar. Hundreds of Hawiye elders begged him to stay and deliver them from the Darood who were near by.
Caydiid was tricked into believing that the Hawiye would silence Ali Nafto if he defeated the Darood threat.
He was successful and pursued Siyaad Barre into Gedo and out of Somalia. Rumor has it that the USC would have caught Siyaad if they didn't miscalculate that Siyaad would leave through El Waaq and not Bulow Xawo.

Strategically, there was no way the former regime would have been able to seize power again. There was a strong dislike for the regime. A sense of Hawiyenimo had been developed.
The most key was Siyaad Barre was not as smart as he once was. Ever since auto accident, he lost power to the teams of Darood officials who did not know the divide and rule strategy very well.
I doubt that Siyaad would have allowed a full swing campaign in the Hawiye lands esp when Xamaar was in it.

Xoogsade's dad warned Siyaad about starting the campaign in the Sacad homeland in 1989. He knew the Sacad very well especially their determination to accomplish their goals. Xoogsade's dad also knew it was the Majeerten pushing for the campaign and he was even opposed to Siyaad bringing the SSDF into government.
For his troubles, Siyaad put him under house arrest because the man was Rer Diini.

There was always rivallry. However when Siyaad unleashed his campaign in Majeertenia, a lot of MJs sought refuge in Sacad land. We never harmed them at all as we were neighbors & relatives.
Siyaad sent an official to encourage the Sacad to take up arms against the MJs. A traditional elder who listened to the official's speech (which said the govt would not punish anyone who robbed, raped, murdered or stole from the MJs) stood up and said,
" I always had a lot of respect for the President but no longer do. How can he hire a fool like you who says to rob, kill, and rape your relatives ? How can a man rape his habaryaal, in laws, ? "
Siyaad offered the same deal to the MJs who after surrendering the SSDF were in bad economic shape while the Sacad were prospering.
The MJs took it and forgot about the generousity that the Sacad offered them during the dark days of the Siyaad operation to dismante the SSDF.
The Operation agains the Sacad started in late 1989. Nearly 2,000 men were kiled in a matter of 1 month. No Sacad was expecting a war with Siyaad and most vicitims did not know that they were to be executed by the Somali National Army as it came into town. THe operation was lead by DhagaBaceyr, a Marexan.

Abdiwahab,
You have missed my point.
Read here,
Nervous residents in Mogadishu report seeing freelance gunmen roaming the streets again. One man, who refused to give his name for fear of retribution, said he no longer felt safe.
"The warlords are coming back," he said.
Afrah, in his first interview with the international media since June, said government control of Mogadishu is an illusion.
The government, is utterly dependent on neighboring Ethiopia, which has the region's most powerful armed forces, he said.

habaashiis beat him 7 years in and out
this is the man that is decorated war hero and fought for Somalia in the 1964 and 1977-78 wars. He also played a key role in the creation of the powerful Puntland state, which covers one third of Somalia. The apparent defeat of both the warlords and the Islamic Courts Union centred in Mogadishu has seen him become the internationally recognized de facto leader of Somalia.
i think that all changed when he became a puppet for his tigre masters but now lets just hope and see if he is using them and if he can get rid of geedi whatever x/aideed says says c/yusuf to.
Dude, I find that hard to believe......there has to be more to the story......... I doubt Siad Barre would authorize the MJs to kill Sacads........he was too smart for that.
Anyways, are you related to Cadow/Aftooji........I know those guys pretty well, they know the family.
GEDO:
Again, it goes back to my statement about Siyaad's faculties. He was losing it day by day and his decision making was outsourced to others.
I am related to both.
