That SNM hero was a very special man and a unique artist. He was the only one who refused to sing or partcipate in any Pro-Siyad art during the 20 years of Kacaan rule when every other artist joined in, some out of good faith or patriotism but most because they either believed in Siyad's 1971 declaration of Scientific Socialism or just because they wanted money and influence. The closest he came to suporting the regime was his ditty in support of (Pro government) Union of Teachers " Wa macallinka wa maskaxdii dunidoo mallasan mowjadaheeda". But then he was a teacher before he became an Artist.
Otherwise Mohamed Moge not only rejected political opportunism he also shunned new instruments like the awful sound of the electronic `Organ' of the seventies sticking instead to his trusted guitar and Cuud.
But that particular song(Dadka ha iska weyneen) is actually a remake of an old Djiboutian song.

Galool,
"But that particular song(Dadka ha iska weyneen) is actually a remake of an old Djiboutian song."
The song was never Djoubtian , the composer of the song " inaad kali wax garad tahay" and
" Maxaa Deyr Cad Geel Halaaboo, Dibjiray cunay dugaagoo , ninkii lahaa daydayaaa, Maxay Dunidu ciishay wiilo , dulqaad iyo deeq lahaayoo, dadkuna doqon moodayaae, wakhtigu ways daba socdaa , adigoo daganaa abaar ......"was composed by the legendary poet/composer Ibraahin Gadhle a native of Burco and later naturalized citizen of Jabuuti. He died couple years ago in Jabuuti , most of the great songs of Maxamed Mooge wrongly attributed to Hadraawi belong to Ibraahin Gadhle.

I wasnt aware Gadhle was from Burco. I thought he was Djiboutian. But if he was a naturalised Djiboutian then he was still a Djiboutian and the song was a remake, sang first by Djiboutians.
We Isaqs are not a one-nation tribe: We are Djiboutians, Ethiopians, Somalilanders, Somalis and now a multiplicity of other nations in Europe and America.

he composed this when he was in Xalane(Bootiko) for revolutionary re-education.
Ma ogtahay Indian ocean baan ku ag wareegaaye
ma ogtahay askari jaahilaaan ka amar qaataaye
ma ogtahay anfacadaan cunaa ma laha iidaane
Ma ogtahay waxaan eersadaa odayga weeyaane

Xplaya,
War ninyahow thanks, I always thought it was Hadraawi's lyrics, and not just me, most Somalis would tell you the same.

Cuud is irreplacable, it's eternity but I like to listen to Faysal Cumar Mushteeg's voice in Cuud more any other artist

Ibraahim Gadhle was born in DJabuuti to a Hbaer Yunis father and a Ciise mother so he is Reer DJabuuti by all accounts, just because he is HY does not mean he is originally from Burco. Ina Gadhle joined the struggle against Afweyne's regime, moved from DJabuuti to Hargeisa and cpmposed many songs and riwaayado,

Who cares if Ahmed N.ALaale sang the song first....Thanks to M.Mooge it became smash-hit from Djibouti to Garissa.
He was a unique talent.
Another classic from the legend..... ''JIRABKAAD II MARISAY''....I love this song.wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Xidgita,
Not at all Ibraahim Gadhle was a native of Burco, both him and his great old freind Ibraahim Biixi ( of the reer Amaan) left Hargaysa in late 1950's to Jabuuti.
Aske any Gumbuur like Intruder and he would find out easily.

Sir Lugooyo,
Haa kaligaa ma aha dad oo dhan baa hees kaste iska siiya Hadraawi.
