It's definately sad and tragic. I worked a lot at the camps in 2004, mostly in Djibouti. Breaks your heart.

am not denying it, but we should condemn it. not promote it. these evil bastards are doing this for their own gain against these innocent people. we should try and stop it like the puntland government is currently working to do just that.

Sad That is sad.
Remember that Allah swt speaks of the Orphans as special people who will be under his guide and speaks of them in a light way throught at the Quraan and the Sunnah of our Nabi Prophet Mohammed saw. It is a duty to give Zakat (charity) and one of these forums is to the needy and orphans. We as Muslims have a dutie to look after each other ESPECIALLY those less well of, those elder, our parents and Orphans and to give pay to poor-due.

HELP ORPHANS>"[2:220] Upon the world and the Hereafter. And they question thee concerning orphans. Say: To improve their lot is best. And if ye mingle your affairs with theirs, then (they are) your brothers. Allah knoweth him who spoileth from him who improveth. Had Allah willed He could have overburdened you. Allah is Mighty, Wise. "

Whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind.--5:32

Be good to parents, relatives, orphans, and the needy. Speak kindly and pay the poor-due. 2:83

Give of your wealth to family, relatives, and the needy. Set slaves free. 2:177

Give to orphans and don't steal from them. 4:2, 4:10

Be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, neighbors, and travelers. 4:36

Whoever kills a human being, it is as if he had killed all mankind. Whoever saves the life of one, it is as if he
had saved the life of all. 5:32

Don't steal from orphans. Don't cheat or lie. 6:152

Don't steal from orphans. 17:34

Feed the poor and unfortunate. 22:28

Allah prohibits subjecting orphans to harsh treatment and condemns those who mistreat them>:
"Have you seen him who denies the religion? He is the one who harshly rebuffs the orphan and does not urge the feeding of the poor. So woe to those who do prayer, and are forgetful of their prayer, those who show off and deny help to others". (Surat al-Ma'un: 1-7)

>>> Would you like your heart to soften and Allah subhaanahuwata`aalaa to answer your prayers? <<<

A man once came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam, and complained that he feels hardness in his heart. The Messenger of Allah said, what translated means, "Would you like that your heart becomes soft and that you acquire what you need? Be merciful with the orphan, pat his head and feed him from what you eat. This will soften your heart, and enable you to get what you need." [At-Tabaraanee & As-Silsilah as-Saheehah]

>>> Would you like Allah Subhanahuwata`alaa to remove one of your griefs on the Day of Judgment? <<<

"Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment" [Saheeh Muslim]

>>> Would you like to be in the eternal Jannah with our beloved Prophet and the best of creation, sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam? <<<

"I and the caretaker of the orphan will enter Paradise together like this, raising (by way of illustration) his forefinger and middle finger jointly, leaving no space in between." [Saheeh al-Bukhaari]

Is there a way we could do fundraising for this kid --and try to even bring him to USA --u know -pay his education and all that!

I would volunteer for that --what ever to keep this survivor --not to loose hope!

and its time --that Puntland place --close those ports -where people are being shipped to hell---I mean how many people have to die -to realize its time to do something --and they talk about administration existing in this hell hole place!
This is how Bosaso makes money,

Exploiting poor South Somalis, Ethiopians and others hell I even saw group of Sri Lankans who were scammed and stuck in Bosaso last year they couldnt speak any Somali and were begging constantly Laughing
why are u saying poor south Somalis --cuz most of the South Somalis --fled to Kenya where they are getting free ride to America -by Airplane --so its ppl who live in Puntland and surrounding who are isolated from the rest of the world --who still think Yemen is super-power
Ah the hypocrisy…wks ago u all cheered as it rained foreign bombs on them. U laughed and paraded as their blood was spilled. U gained pleasure from their pain, the suffering was music to ur ears. All of a sudden we feel bad for a single orphan. This right here is the face of the war. This child and thousands others just like him are the outcome. Its not just the past decade and half that’s ruined, its not just the present time that’s ruined, it’s the future that’s ruined for the true victims of this doomed nation. As some of feel a heartbreak for this boy, there r those who r laughing simply cause they suspect he is not their Qabiil.
