Somalia would be better off being Christian than muslim. Christianity, in particular Calvin inspired versions, instills higher work ethic. In fact, some Chritean denominations enjoin getting as rich as posssible, to sacrifice, to work hard, to turn the other cheek, to always seek peace and get along with others, to forgive, to embrace forebearance, to be charitable (TO ALL not just 2 your kind like in Islam).

The Inquisition was how long ago? I'm talking about modern Christianity and it's counterpart, modern Islam. Comparing the two, xtrian lands fare better. And it's not muslim lands lagging behind, it's the systematic unformity of Muslim failure in the 20th centure compared to Christian success. I know you can't blame everything wrong with muslims today on Islam but you can't at the same absolve Islam of any faults.

Deer, Christianity is not the driving force of the world, capitalism and secularism is; whatever success or draw back can be attributed to capitalism and secularism. However, when Christianity as a faith was practiced to the letter, we had the dark ages and the inquisition. Compare that to when Islam was practiced and you get 700 years of progress under Muslim Spain.

Of course capatalism is a driving force in the West's success. But what accounts for the nigh total failure of muslim majority lands compared to xtrian majority lands. Does it have something to do with the values engendered by the two faiths?

Christianity outgrew the dark ages and the Inquisition. It learned from it's mistakes. It reformed unlike Islam. The church is powerless nowadays.

It's muslims insistance that the only legit Islam is that of 7th century arabia and that there should be no reformation of Islam it to make more compatible with modern demands is what's keeping many muslim nations back.
