Can you answer these questions for me..

If you believe in Somali UNion soo much than why do you spend soo much time bad mouthing all the Somali tribes except your tribe?

Why are you not in Somali working for Somali Union or atleast promoting Somali cohesivness instead of spreading tribal hate?

thats fukin hilarious, i dont think any of the dozen or so survivng T-55's and 62's that were captured are inoperation.
funny think is that the fiat APC's captured from old siads army are in good condition, and some of those stalin organs and quite a number of artillary pieces.

Anyway how on earth did talk about somaliland and an argument about wether loepard tanks are better than M1 start?

Tank design reflects the philosophy of the nation that built it.
The Germans were facing hordes of Russian tanks accross a flat plain, and they expected the Russians to outnumber them 3 to 1, so naturally they designed the Leopards for Speed, manuverability and accurate fire control at range, so they could hit first and keep moving.

The British had a different philosophy, from thier experience of WW2 they calculated that Protection is more impotant than speed, so they built big heavily armoured and slow tanks like the Centurian and Cheiften, they however did not sacrifice firepower and thier tanks were always with better guns than the Russians, infact the centurians 105 mm gun became Nato standard and was even adopted by the americans.

The isrealis believed in protection even more, thats why the merkeva is the most armoured and heaviest monstor out there,
combined with one of the best guns and firecontrol systems out there, the merkavas are however extremely slow.

Russians believe in simple designed that are produced in large numbers, thats why Russian tanks are easy to build,
have less protection , inferior firecontrol than western tanks, but they are highly manouverable , light and outnumber everyone by 2 to 3 times.


The Americans bieng the big spenders they are, have tried to build a tank that is extremly well protected,
with exellent firecontrol, and extremley fast with the M1,
ofcourse it is also expensive and more complex than the others.


So ther is no good tank or bad tank, its how you use it.

even a few old rusty T-55 would come in good use in somalia,
imagine this senario, you have strong position held by the enemy with some number of technicals and other vehicles,
now you can charge straight at them with your T-55s becuase most of the cannon rounds will bounce off its armour
keep a couple of technicals with your millitia moving next to your tank to prevent someone firing an RPG at you, (a single RPG fired by one man, is more dangerous to you than a few technicals firing anti aircraft guns at you). all this while some of your technicals skirt around the flanks and you can fuk anybody appossing you in somalia.



Sadly nobody is using tanks properly in Somalia, apart from the Ethiopians.
and you can forget about the T-55's, T-72's are for sale for as low as $50,000 to $100,000 a piece on the world market.
you just have to refurbish them, i believe the Eritreans used entirley new commercial purpose diesel engines with thier T-72's.
