Seriously, the way I see it is a combinations of things. Clash of cultures between the somali parents and us and parents not having a strong parenting skills under the circumestances. See, I can't really blame the kids for anything becuause they are kids and will adopt to their environment, but moslty the blame is on the parent. Somali parents come to the States for example after the civil war, some of them know only that good ol' fashion somali parenting which includes giving boys alot of freedom and forcing things on their kids...baically chit that doesn't work in the West. Back home, you could trust your kids with your neigbours or friends, you can't do that here, because you neva know if your neightbour is a crackhead or a serial child molestor.

Another important concept to grasp is also, the lack of family time at home. Growing up we always ate together and our parents did alot of activities with us so that they can get through our head. Most Somali parents don't spent time with their kids especially the dads and sons, thats why you see alot of boys into bad habits.

people, people in my opinion I think some of us lack respect for one another as a society, yes there isn't enought faith to keep us love one another like cutie says..... Sad

This is hillarious. In one minute she is saying "I think some of us lack respect for one another" in the next she says "Shut the **** up madmac" and the incongruence of it never occurs to her or Cutie.
