I have met two types of of Somalis living in the West. Those that are integrated members of their new societies, and those that deliberately o not socialize with or asymilliate in their new environments. Those in the second group make themselves much more vulnerable to xenophobia.

I have to admit though, that the Somalis around my area do give us genuine hard working Somalis a bad image, most of the Somali’s including full grown Somalis hang around the corners chewing khat. Some of them walk around the area in large groups intimidating any Somali or non-Somali they happen to see.
I dislike people that chew khat or sell khat, khat is the drug that destroys the Somali community.
