I don't think the Ethiopians would militarily support the TFG in invading Kismayo if it has a falling out w/ Marexaan because then it will look like Ethiopia is taking clan sides........and Ethiopia cannot handle an increasing insurgency in Somalia.

Not only that, how could the Ethiopians fight a front in Xamar, come down to Kismayo, with supply lines stretching through Gedo? How long could that last?

More than likely, the Ethiopians told C/Y that if you initiate a conflict in Kismayo then you are on your own.

Because as far as the Southern theatre is concerned, Marexaan and Hawiye tribes have more weight than C/Y's MJ tribe......especially in the Deep South.
