The Ogaden wouldn't be difficult to get back, they can do 1977 ALL over again if we had a united Somali government giving funds here and there. However, thats not happening. What I wish could happen is Somalis become like the Yahud here in the USA and have some clout over these regimes in Kenya and Ethiopia politically by getting into elected positions in their governments and what not. Good alternative to Greater Somalia.

same time however, ONLF can handle themselves and can fight for however long they need to. Meles will be overthrown in the near future and thats a great opportunity in itself.

Ofcourse,everyone wants to see a Greater Somalia,but that dream has dead centuries ago.And i stand correct the people og Ogaden want toreclaim their inherent rights to government themselves and seek self-determination.

Yep, an Ogadenia Republic in the heart of the Horn is what I want to see soon.

Say Meles' regime is overthrown similar to Siad Barre and Somaliland's "succession" from the Union. Do you think international regimes and organizations would recognize an Ogaden state?

Fah1223,There are plans in works incase Meles regime is overthrown.I can assure you that the ONLF will inform the world throught international radio and tell the world that the capital of Ogadenia is liberated and from there on we will declare our Independence.

Sadaam,I would like to make a clear that the ONLF does not discriminate any body to join for our struggle.The ONLF invited all of the people in the region to join them,some did while others didnt.If they want to form their own alternative groups no one is stopping them.

We opted to keep it for now because it serves our interest.If we change the name to GNLF( ) or WSNLF( ) it wouldnt serve our interest because the international community would see that as an attempt to join Somalia.I hope that helps you understand where we're coming from.

Eritreans fought together. Gaal iyo Muslim, Tigreey iyo Afar, jaberti iyo Rasheedi, Casaaan iyo Mukalaal Madoow.

The Western Somali Liberation Front lost touch with the rank and file of Ogaden Somali people.

Daarood Harti made it possible the struggle of Somalis in Ethiopia back in the 60s. In the early 60s, our infant government stood up against that Christian empire and formed WSLF.

ONLF is an offshoot of WSLF. It has yet to achieve what the WSLF achieved, so basically, this clan based organization is flawed politically like the Isaq based SNM state.
