Amusing. From what I recall others poked their finger in your eye with glee. You're embellishing the story a little aren't you my kindred?

But Viking was a great sport. Fought like a genteman in a duel with every regard for decorum. Under what cabaaya is he hiding?

Galol was a torchbearer of Somali heritage with a gift for language out of which many flowers bloomed. He belonged to the Devil's party among which were a number of heretics who took up cudgels against the head scrapers, but I think it's safe to say that his star shone the brightest. One got the sense that the others had no feeling for Somalinimo. Their minds were sculpted by the West, but Galol's heart lay in the dusty backwaters of Xamar in which he famously plans to establish a saloon decked out with the bestest varieties of the Drink of Life.

Here was a man who could rattle off Somali folklore like no other and regale you with diverting stories about how the history of nomads is about rival bands of men poking each other with sharp objects after which they romance the livestock, drink caano geel iyo timir and tell each other how sweet and glorious it was.

He was a poet who could fetch the most obscure Somali writers from neglected obscurity and whoop them up. The man was the watchman of the night who trained his torchlight on the dark alleys of the national psyche. What honey is to bees, what horns are to bison, what sex appeal is to a woman of ill fame Somalia was to Galol, a true lover of the country, the language, the culture and how manfully he fought to preserve it against the exponents of towelheadism who want to replace it with an Arab system.

One did not have to always nod in assent, for no mind can think for another any more than one’s lungs can breathe for another, but alone among the spotty little chits who raged across the netscape he made an imperishable mark on the board and raised the IQ of the enstupidated. What more do you want?

Wow! i have to stand and raise a glass of caano geel to your last piece. you are one hell of fine Writier. Sad it was wasted on praising galol. 9/10 for the wrting 0/10 for the purpose.

viking disapeared many years ago. i doubt he is clothed in a diffrent cabaaya.

As for the battles i had, only my adversaries can recall N narrate how i layed them to the ground, spat on their ugly kufaar faces and walked over their battered bodies.

goodnite man. gota hit thr sack oldman. till next time..keep writing

I've seen you defend a certain somebody on numerous occasions, what is one to believe when they observe such behaviour?

Basra

I hardly agree with you, there's a first for everything I guess.

So defending qof dhintay and asking folks to stop waa qabiil bashing? I disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion.

Your right the deceased should not be insulted, I was just kidding
but there is a little truth in every just kidding.

OMG, this is the BEST thread posted here in ages!!! No one who is a true veteran of Snet and it's wars, can mistake the author of this prose to be anyone other than Pitsaleh who, imho, I always (mistakenly I see now) supected of being Galol. His last post reminded me of why I fell in love with Somaliniimo in the first place. Good days, as the rush of nostalgia slowly subsides.

Is that timeless thread still around because I can't find it? I don't agree with the ethics of Qarxis because I belong to the old Genteel Tradition, laakin the old board turned the practice into a high art form. Casting my eye around I see nobody interesting enough to unmask at any rate. The old team had a social capital the like of which I haven't seen. Personally, I've always wanted Basra exposed so I might see her thirteen chins. Any luck in that direction? And by what handle were you known 'cause I don't recall your nick at all?

I wasn’t aware that the gaalada had ugly faces. Does that mean you have a babyface that seduces like a woman in the night? Pictures, or it’s not true. How can a forest-chin who’s dressed in a woman’s gown call others foolxumo? Charming.

I wonder if you are still trumpeting the head-lopping Wahhabi gang among whom you dallied in your more innocent days. I imagine that across the years you’ve ascended the tree of human evolution somewhat and laid your knuckle-dragging Neanderthal antics by the wayside.

I like to think events in the Horn have tempered your enthusiasm for the women stoners.

Or is that too great a leap for Your Excellency?

Onwards, upwards and back into the trees!

Gurey,

What does it feel like to hold the distinction of being the only skinny in New South Wales? You are a curious specimen. A common observation by widely traveled people is that the less Aussies have to say the more intelligent they appear. Can you post a recording of your voice so we can laugh at that high pitched Aussie accent? For the privilege I would pay large sums of money that would make the high gods dance.

Time was when I dated a young Aussie lovely who buttered her bread as a budding painter with great artistic flourish. The sweet young thing was nine months pregnant with genius. Out of her canvas exploded an arresting burst of colour and form and texture from whose mad, swirling dance of energy radiated a convincing verisimilitude.

But like all such merchants of the brush she could not ever land a commission or have the pains of her labour showcased in a fancy upscale venue. Very queer she was too. The woman could not bear the sensation of her own heartbeat for she said it was like waiting for a clock to stop ticking.

And she possessed a great dread of eerily quiet places so we couldn't hit the museum, the bookstore or the library. A year later she dropped me because I kicked her out of bed in my sleep. An accident to be sure, but she was none the wiser for it and I made no great effort to disabuse here. Letters came my way periodically threatening to out me as a woman-beating towelhead, but I was quick to remind her of Oscar Wilde's quip: Better damned than ignored.

True enough, Lauren was a good, good lay, but up with thanatophobics one cannot put. Let any timid soul who wants to end a romance follow in my shining example. Wallop! and away they go. I recommend it.

Stray question: Is it true that Arabman was exposed as a covert CIA agent?
