LamaG, this is pushing it now. I have now converted to the other side but mainly because of underdog syndrome.

If this is how Somalis think then Gumeeysnimo FTW!

On a serious note, there are many reasons why someone doesn't get hitched at 20 like family expectations that are different in the Diaspora. Families don't put pressure or care if their daughter does or doesn't get married at a particular age, in fact they put more pressure on her education. I think this is good as it gives her more freedom to choose when to start and it's more sensible. What if she doesn't give a crap will she do it for their sake? Then it is likely a failed marriage from the get-go.

I think females should make a list for unmarried men and select names for each stage of their single-hood.This is fair

Every woman got a husband in the good old days. In the diaspora there are thousands of gumeeys; yaa gareeyska ka furaayo oo u salaaxayo gaadada.

We are becoming a nation of gumeeys, garoobs and a few geesxer. We need a task force to fight this social decay.
Sheekooyinki hore ayaad wadaa.

Dumarki wey madax banaanaadeen. Garoob hadday bateen, garoob nabigeeni (scw) ayaa u duceeyay oo garoobnimo ceeb maahan.

Naag kastaana markay wax barashadeeda dhameyso oo isleedahay aleeylahee haddaad isku filnaatay oo reer waad ka adagtahay ayay guursan :-@

1st and 2nd generation immigrant children will likely not see their own grandchildren, given the trends.

Alpha, forget about diaspora geesxer! Find a wife in the rural areas in somalia; says an experienced lamagoodle.

Salool; waa runtaa calafka waa iska jiraa laakinse ogow laxba meeshaasi is dhigto ayaa lagu qalaa... Garoob ma xumo in la guursado; waxaa igu maqal ah inaad heleeysid ajar iyo axsanaad. Aniguse, mar dambe naag dibada degan aroosi maayo.

Greenday, hayaay; don't depend ku lahaa! Yareey xaalku lacag keliya ma aha ee ogow! Nin ku dhaqi karo ayaa la guursadaa. Koleey ninkii gumeeys guursado ceeb ayaa u taala:

See it this way; it is natural selection; the best ladies are married before they reach 17...

Saraxnow, believe it or not but every somali family views unmarried daughters as a liability! That is how somalis think.

Zeliha, maxaa kaa xanaajiyey?

Most people will see their grandchildren even if their children marry late unless the person dies young :?

Most of us are getting married 26-30+. Perhaps we will have two, at most three children. These children themselves, given how much practice they have with the deen (which I think will be negligible) will likely marry 30+, deciding to have kids much later. Perhaps nearing 40.

I don't see many of us living well into our 70s. But that's just me.

I can barely function around the women here, and you want me to get married to a girl who'll give me a jab if I try to go in for a hug? Lol, I'm convinced if you show even the slightest bit of weakness toward rural Somali girls, your manhood is gone. For good.

We'd have to compare the number of 'practicing' youth and 'non-practicing' youth and see, because the former tend to marry young and they are many. So then these will likely also have practicing kids themselves and then voila! everybody's loves Raymond

Zeliha was telling him that what he's saying is from the past and that women are more independent today. She said the Prophet made dua for the garoobs and that it isn't ceeb and she said she doesn't like the way he is putting women down
