Siciid how come you refer to Somaliland development as development done by the people of Somaliland and the local government, yet the development brought about by the former government of Somalia you do not recognize, such as the Berbera port, Berbera cement factory and the roads connecting Hargaisa, Berbera, Burco and other towns etc I have seen you talk about the Berbera port saying it was build by the soviet and you don't stop there, you shamelessly strip off virtually all the achievements of the former government. Now here is my question, do you mean to tell me that not a single shilling went to development in northern Somalia during the term of the former government of Somalia, and do you consider it an achievement of the state when a government directs funds granted or lend by donor nations infrastructure etc to bring about development. The roads that are being constructed by the Somaliland authorities surely can't be completely without sponsoring from donor nations, and such is the case for pretty much the rest of the development you brag about on these boards. Now what is up with the hypocrisy.

they`re trying to patch up their iidoor relationship......how sweet.

Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
What is your point? the former collapsed government got all that aid in the name of the former Somali republic (Somaliland and Somalia), so it doesn't matter because
frankly Berbera deserved that port built by the Soviets and Americans for it was based in a strategic location along with some of the roads who were built by the Chinese.
With the collapse of the former government everyone moved on apart from Gedo which is stuck in time, now decent people are building their own infrastructures expanding
hundreds of km with their own wealth and even ports soon. While Gedonians dream about the days of Boli Qaran cheques, being promoted from the Bush to most government
positions of the former collapsed government despite being illiterate and semi naked and stealing from the Somali coffers. It shows some people are only something when there
is a government hand feeding them.

Who the hell is Garaad Ali Faraah?? there has never been a Garaad by that name in Dhulbahante History!!!!
Wasn't Sultan Nur forced to invade Berbera with The Dhulbahante Garaads Army?
his wife taken prisoner and came to ask for Darwiish aka Dhulbahante for help??

Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
Garaad Ali Farah was the supreme Dhulbahante Garaad and the grand father of the current Garaad Jamaac Garaad Ali. Suldaan Nuur invaded Berbera solely for his
interests. His wife the Garaada the woman your talking about was Cali Geri, Dhulbahante, she was kidnapped in Karin because of Dhulbahante spies telling people her
location at that time, nevertheless she was treated as a royalty along with her little infant and later released and bought back to Suldaan Nuur. The Suldaan's war
with the British never stopped along with Haji Suudi Shabeele they both died as a honorable men in battlefield unlike the Mad Mullah who fled to Ethiopia.

How does one read this
If you want to talk about Gedo, know the facts about the region, it did not receive and iota of development from the former Somali government, for most of the 20 years of Lawlessness Gedo has received close to zero Aid from the international community, even humanitarian aid. Gedo whiles suffering from instability caused by external elements continues to enjoy some sort of economic growth, this is why Doollow and Beledxaawo are growing in size, both being larger than Berbera which has received so much development from the former Somali government as well as the international community in terms of aid during the last 20 years, not to mention the fact that Berbera unlike its Gedo counterparts enjoys stability for two consecutive decades.
If you type Berbera on youtube, google, or any serach engine, you are flooded with news report about economic migrants risking their lives fleeing Somaliland, this is nothing short of epic evidence for the economic stagnation of Somaliland, worse than Gedo.
I am from Caabudwaaq, and similar to Gedo my hometown has not received much in terms of international aid, and Caaubdwaaq was completely ignored by the former government, the government before it dug one well for us, a joke really but at least something that had a positive impact on the livelihood of the local herders, now Caabudwaaq suffers from similar economic crisis as Berbera, but the two are completely different, one is growing rapidly whiles the other isn't, one is isolated from essential infrastructure like roads and airports, seaports etc whiles the other is sitting on the coast and has the national road running through it connecting it to other major hubs for business. So tell me why are Caabudwaaq, growing ?? the growth is funded entirely by diaspora sending money back home, as we know Caabudwaaq has one of the highest number of Diaspora for a Somali city, why is Gedo towns such as Beledxaawo growing despite instability, the people are not busy chewing khat and living off of international aid, they are taking advantage of cross border trading and play a crucial integral part in Jubaland economy and the wider southern Somalia economy.
despite instability money is made in Marehan land unlike Somaliland, what is missing is that money to be spend inside Marehan land and the only thing preventing us from building flashy real estate is the risk of losing it to madfac due to instability. Now imagine Marehan land with stability, not only will more money be made, but the real estate business so fondly discussed about on these boards will boom.
I use to ask myself like every Marehan and some other southerns do, why are Isaaqs here in the west ?? because the only thing preventing us from returning is instability, the threat of catching a bullet, yet your threat is starving to death as result of economic stagnation, no Cayr in Somaliland, no JSA, welfare, whiles our people in the south flee instability and return promptly when the threat is gone, your people flee in herds risking life willing to to escape economic stagnation.
watch Marehan forge Jubaland with our partners and bring back to life the true Somali spirit of engenuity, the same spirit displayed during the last government when literacy rates skyrocketed as a result of Bar ama Baro programs, the spirit of Iska wax u qabso is something intrinsically part of Beesha Sade mindset, something that was shared with Somalis and it is something that will be displayed in Jubaland in due time inshallah.
that is all now, cheers.

incoherent emotional response, how is Gedo relevant to any of what I said ? seriously.Siciid85 wrote:What is your point? the former collapsed government got all that aid in the name of the former Somali republic (Somaliland and Somalia), so it doesn't matter because

What the hell is a 2nd father
. The Garaad Ali they are refering to in the source was this one. My mistake it is not the current one's grandfather but his grand grand
grand grand grand father who was once the supreme Garaad of this clan.
Dhulbahante Garads.
Garad Jama (The 2nd)
Garad AbdiQani 1st (Garad Jama's uncle) 1985-2006
Garad Ali 6th 1966-1985
Garad Jama 1st 1923-1966
Garad Aar Dheel 1st 1921-1923
Garad Mohamed 4th 1901-1918
Garad Ali 5th 1863-1899 (assassinated by the Darvish movement)

Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
Garaad Ali 5th is the Son of Garaad Mahmud 4th, so again your source is wrong!! secondly the Garaad was know for his stand against the Europeans/Ethiopians.
Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
The source is from your own inputs. Whether his 5th or 10th Ali, he was the Gerad of this clan. That is what matters.
Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
What source? we are talking about the source you brought claiming the British were talking about their relations with Garaad Ali Farah there was never one!! second the Garaad Ali that died on1899 rejected the colonist & never signed a document nor did he allow the Christians to invade his Kingdom.
Re: Kooyaame Reer Khaatumo Seaside Town in Waamo(Pics)
Your own Dhulbahante websites, abtirsi, wiki pages etc which they share info about their clan. Just because he was assassinated doesn't mean he didn't exist. If
that is what you want to think, then feel free to do so.
Now lets get back to the "Garadah", it is a common knowledge the name Garaad/Garadah in the north is used by mainly Dhulos and some Warsans.
Isaaq hardy use the name Garadah or Garaad. So i don't even need other sources to back it up, because it is clear as crystal. As i said before, she was treated
as royalty for the fact she was married to a powerful man from a large tribe. In many of the books they call her the "princess" and majesty.
Have a nice day. I am out, you all have been educated.

THE CAPTURE OF A PRINCESS
ABOUT a month after Sultan Nur's raid on Berbera, our
senior lamp-trimmer, Obseyah Mahomed, of the Habr
Gerhajis tribe and the Aden Port Trust service, asked
permission to see me alone. I admitted him at once to my
office, and he told me that his wife had travelled down
country with the Garadah, Sultan Nur's wife, who had
with her the Sultan's only son, an infant. The Garadah
was en route for Karam, a port 60 miles to the eastward
of Berbera, the embargo on her entrance to Berbera com-
pelling her to go there to purchase clothes and the annual
food supplies. She had, in fact, probably arrived at Bunder
Karam that morning.

I replied : "I will certainly comply with Your Highness's
request, which it is only fair and just that I should do.
I will now insert an extra paragraph in my letter narrating
the whole circumstances of your capture." I held out my
hand for the return of my letter, but apparently she did
not wish me after all to add anything. In giving the missive
back to me, however, she observed : "You write good
Arabic, but your calligraphy is that of a child. You need
to be taught by a scribe to write neatly, and to form
better connections between your syllables." I answered
her : "Your Highness is perfectly correct. Personally I
seldom write Arabic, and consequently get no practice in
penmanship. On this occasion I was compelled to write
myself because I had no Arabic clerk available. I will,
however, venture to request the honour and pleasure of
being given a few lessons in calligraphy by Your Highness."
She did not appear to be offended by this request, although
she made no reply to it. She then smiled, and did not seem
to have been annoyed or bored by our conversation.
My lamp-trimmer came to the Residency and asked me
not to tell his wife (who was then in actual attendance on the
Garadah), or indeed the Garadah herself, that I had learned
from him of the Princess's presence at Karam. I readily

Last but not least, the icing on the cake. Coldoon's occupied people seeking the attention of Beelweynta HY thinking they can instigate between the
brotherly clans of Togdheer. As a HY i see Dhulos aka Diraac Darood as the abandoned ones who are looking for their daddy and not as a threat to me.

Garaad was used by the Absame Royal Family, the Geeri Kombe Royal Family, the Dhulbahante Royal Family and the Warsangeli Royal Family. Isaaq used it before too so you can't be sure the Garadahs Family, if so we would know her by name.
Secondly simply just admit your source is wrong since there has never been a Ali Farah Garaad.
