Wired,
Just stop.. You're regurgitating verses that don't prove anything.
I feel that many Somalis on this site are not mature enough to engage in a discussion about the tenets of Islam or any other religion for that matter because they view any discourse as an attack on their existence which is ridiculous. So they resort to name calling and backbiting, hebel waa kafir, waa murtad...
The ancestors of Somalis and other Cushitic speaking people were monotheist since 8000 BCE, long before Jews/Ayrabs existed and their prophets allegedly walked this earth. That's a fact.
Now.. you chose Islam because your parents were Muslim, not because of your own rationalization of why you exist, the meaning of life etc. If you were born into a Jewish family what's the possibility that you would convert to Islam?
Just stop.. You're regurgitating verses that don't prove anything.

Xildiid
Humans are incapable of self realization, enough to come up with a monotheist concept. The human brain was very limited until the advent of the holly book of Quran! But before that, Even more limited, before the Israeli scriptures, that lead them to torah, the bible, and finally the Quran. Humanity are very limited in brain, and imagination. They need to be inspired to create an inspiration. Is that concept very foreign for you? Today, we have people still practicing polytheism, in 2017--now tell me how pathetic humans are!
Recently, I listened to my famous preacher who told me ALL religion is about belief. No guarantee. I was shocked to hear him say that, with all his knowledge, and imaamness. I am sure his imaan is in tact, but he was speaking from his own truth, which I respect. But for me, yes believing is a big part of Islam, but no room for doubt, or throwing the dice.
PS ironically, Xildiid u have stated you have no problem with Quran. Enuf stated.

Bro, you are right, we tend to be hostile and insulting to other Somalis who profess atheism. That should not be the case. I am guilty of that against my own judgment and I only do it when others are as disrespectful. Still, I should not and should set a better example. If it is all about choices we make for ourselves, there is no point in attacking someone for their religion/lack of it. Instead of honest discussion about why someone decides God does not exist though, it is the norm almost that the non-muslim Somalis attack Islam using talking points from known websites whose objectives are to denounce Islam yet invite people to Christianity. Really absurd propositions. Some are hostile to all religions but they pick on Islam for their venting although Islam makes more sense than any religion out there. I mean, anyone raised in an Islamic culture including you can attest to the benefits of growing up in an Islamic community from hygiene(purifications of bodies as a condition for prayer, shower from sex etc) to respecting relatives and the generosity prevalent in Islamic communities. There are benefits you reaped from being associated with Somalis who are fundamentally Islamic.
On to your other point, Ironically Islam agrees with you that a person follows the religion of their parents because the parents and the community has an influence on humans in their impressionable years. Below, I will quote the prophet explaining that point you raised. Before that though, let us back up to an earlier moment in a different dimension where God in his infinite power and ability gathered all souls of men and women and asked them a question:
(7:172) And recall (0 Prophet) when your Lord brought forth descendants from the loins of the sons of Adam, and made them witnesses against their ownselves. asking them: 'Am I not your Lord?' They said: 'Yes, we do testify.' We did so lest you claim on the Day of Resurrection: 'We were unaware of this.'
For this pledge, every human is born with the instinct of faith in their creator. Then it changes or stays pure based on their culture and parents. This is where you meet(agree with) Islam yourself when you raised the point earlier. Here is the prophet stating what you observed:
The Prophet (PBUH) reported that Allah said, "I created my servants in the right religion but devils made them go astray". The Prophet (PBUH) also said, "Each child is born in a state of "Fitrah", then his parents make him a Jew, Christian or a Zoroastrian, the way an animal gives birth to a normal offspring. Have you noticed any that were born mutilated?" (Collected by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim).
This Is the beauty of Islam. It addressed in its teaching every possible question regarding religion a man/woman can think of. Including your observations made after a thousand and half millennia. The reply was there all along.
And you seem obsessed with race and linking religion to race. Religion has nothing to with race. Correct set of beliefs do not exist because of race but because of teachings from the God who asked mankind to have faith in him for their benefit.
LASTLY:
I am stating reasons given in Islam to your enquiries, musings, questions, and challenges. This is what you should want, answers from the same religion you are critical of instead of my opinions, So, for you and twist to say we are regurgitating is a bit childish. Islam gives the answers to you period. Don't expect my unqualified opinions.

You regurgitating the same old 'asaadhiirul awaliin', as your holy book ironically calls them, makes your statements neither logical nor factual. They're simply the claims and assertions found in Islam, as well as in many other religions. "God gave us/you free will and will punish you eventually if you don't do as he says", while all that there's in the world is multitude of contradicting, illogical, and inhumane texts from thousands of years ago. And no, you haven't given me a single answer from the list of all the anti-scientific claims in the Koran and ahadith that I listed a couple of posts ago yet. All you did was, just like you've done in this quote, regurgitate those same old superstitious statements found in the Koran that I have been hearing all my life. That doesn't prove jack shit. If that were a proof I, together with many other ex-Muslims, would be believers now.
Mate, all you're doing here is wordplay and making unfounded and unverifiable assertions. Yes, I can't disprove the existence of a higher power, or a creator, in the same way that you can't prove the existence of such a being. The difference is, you believe the religion you were born into happens to be the true one and wanna take a chance on it, and I don't wanna limit my life on a nonsense prose and stories that are unsatisfactory as a command from a higher being who created the world.
May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.
His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame
And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.
Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
Such a silly prose isn't what inspires me as a divine scripture. You are not different from the Christian/Jewish/Hindu/Buddhist who was born into a household that believes in and practices one of those religions, who is convinced that their religion is the true religion. Nothing more than childhood indoctrination and brainwashing, mate. If that fills an emotional void in you, then knock yourself out. I grew out of that stuff.
Let us see the Verdict of other Non muslim and non arab known individuals who took interest in reading the Quran:
Person 1 ) Goethe says,
“It soon attracts, astounds, and in the end enforces our reverence… Its style, in accordance with its contents and aim is stern, grand – ever and always, truly sublime – So, this book will go on exercising through all ages a most potent influence.”
[Goethe – quoted in T. P. Huges “Dictionary of Islam”, p. 526]
Person 2 )
“The Koran (Quran) admittedly occupies an important position among the great religious books of the world. Though it is the youngest of the epoch making works belonging to this class of literature, it yields to hardly any in the wonderful effect which it has produced on large masses of men. It has created an all but new phase of human thought and a fresh type of character. It first transformed a number of heterogeneous desert tribes of the Arabian Peninsula into a nation of heroes, and then proceeded to create the vast politico-religious organizations of Muslims world wide which are one of the great forces with which Europe and the East have to reckon with today.”
[G. Maragliouth in his Introduction to J. M. Rodwells – ‘The Koran”, New York – ‘Everyman’s Library, 1977, p VI]
Person 3 )
“In making the present attempt to improve on the performance of my predecessors, and to produce something which might be accepted as echoing however faintly the sublime rhetoric of the Arabic Koran, I have been at pain to study the intricate and richly varied rhythms which – apart from the message itself – constitute the Koran’s undeniable claim to rank amongst the greatest literary masterpieces of mankind..
This very characteristic feature – ‘that inimitable symphony’, as the believing Pickthall described his Holy Book, ‘the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy’ has been almost totally ignored by previous translators; it is therefore not surprising that what they have wrought sounds dull and flat indeed in comparison with the splendidly decorated original..” [Arthur J. Arberry – “The Koran Interpreted”, London: Oxford University Press . 1964, p. x.]
How many more do you want me to quote? No one with knowledge of Arabic and languages disputes how the Quran is superior to any book that is of religious nature. Arab elites at the time of the prophet tried hard and failed to discredit it. The non muslim elite Quraysh men used to listen to the Quran in secrecy and in the dark and then used to feel threatened by its prose and inimitability to the point where they sought to prevent others from listening to it. They knew the power it had and the ability for it to influence and sway hearts and minds. See the men I quoted dude.
You are an amateur nomad struggling to justify the love of his bottle lol.
As usual, when a Muslim can't defend their position, the best weapon is to attack their opponent personally, even if they don't know anything about the person challenging their beliefs and views. As someone who doesn't believe in god and religion, drinking alcohol would be the least of my worries to not admit. Re my earlier statement of a few of you going back and forth with me for weeks, I wasn't referring to you as not having life outside the internet, but the fact that you couldn't be persuasive enough. But I'll leave the cheap shots to you guys, since you feel so threatened. lol
So, back to the topic. First of all, since it was not long ago when you accused me of copy and paste (though I didn't, apart from one actual link about the Islamic inheritance verse and how its math is wrong, and you couldn't provide a link where I copied and pasted from), you should have at least linked where you copied and pasted those quotes from. But never mind. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-opini ... 4-of-Quran
I have done a quick Google search and some of the people in those quotes where Quran translators from the West. All they were doing was nothing more than good old business, and being diplomatic. How does that prove the Quran's divinity? After they marveled at the "beauty" and "miracles" of the Quran, did they become Muslims?
And in one of your last responses to Xildiid, did you just say "I am stating reasons given in Islam to your enquiries, musings, questions, and challenges. This is what you should want, answers from the same religion you are critical of instead of my opinions"? You pull Islamic claims from the Quran, and you prove those claims with other claims from the same source? Please tell me I just didn't read that!

Yes, drinking alcohol is the least of your worries but it affects your ability to make sense when you write under the influence. At least you sound reasonable if you write when you are sober. You would make what would seem logical argument until it gets destroyed anyway by the next comment a muslim writes to you. But, try writing while sober.
Also, my intent is not to be persuasive in addressing your straw man arguments and your lack of meaningful commentary on Islam. I am cool with you dying in your state of non-belief because it does not benefit me whether you are a believer in his creator or a denier of his lordship. In short, am dropping what Islam says about itself towards your lies and baseless commentary on it.

Actually, nothing I say about Islam is my opinion purely. Any muslim would agree that what Islam says about itself is not their opinion. Muslims simply relate the arguments Islam makes for itself to anyone who questions its validity or to anyone who wants to know about Islam. I put all I quoted in quotation marks which indicated ... well. ... that I quoted someone or some source. If you need links, ask for it when I quote something.

Why would they need to be diplomatic? Most of them lived in their own countries and were curious about Islam since their societies had long standing feud with Islam dating back centuries. Simply, they got curious, got a copy of the QURAN, read it and made their views known.
Best praise is the one that comes from your opponents. These learned men's honest views about Islam show how impressed they were and how they were forced against their original views to say something nice. Goethe is said to have become a muslim, but I am not sure. Regardless, what matters is their honest opinion of a religion that was rival to theirs. What Islam has done for you since you were born into a Muslim society and to muslim parents is far greater than what Islam has done for these men. Unlike you, they took the time to learn about it and made their views known. You are ashamed obviously after you saw a western dude say something nice about Islam compared to you who were born into it Don't be bitter saxib. It is your choice to be Gaal, Islam has nothing to do with it. Playing a victim won't help you defend your confusion and lack of direction in life. It must feel empty to have no faith in anything.
Twist: "Why would it take a non-Muslim to prove the truthfulness of "Allah's" true religion? O dear! I highlighted that one short verse due to its human nature, how such a language can't be from a divine being but from an angry, irritable, fallible human-being. Let's put aside all the insults the Islamic god rains down on Jews as pigs and donkeys (beautiful words from supposedly the creator of the universe), what did he call Walid ibnu Mughira in surat Al-Qalam, verses 12-13? "Mannaacin lil kheyri, muctadin atheem. Cuttulin, bacda thalika ZANIIM!!" Yeah, that's the "Almighty" calling one of his creations as a 'bastard!' in his so-called book that was sent down for all mankind until the end of time. Yeah, right. "
Non-Muslims are invited to read the Quran because its message is directed at all humans. It makes sense for a non-muslim or for anyone to read the Quran. Allah invited all humans to take a look at his book. It is not out of the ordinary then that some men who weren't Muslims took interest and made comments about it after they read it. There is no argument to make here about that. If you knew Islam was an invitation to all humans, you would not ask this silly question. Indha adayga intaad iska dhaaftid, oggoloow you have no clue about Islam at all. Anytime you write a comment, you expose your ignorance about Islam.
Secondly, Quran is meant to convey a message to human audience, therefore, the description of certain characteristics in the Quran, such as a liar, ignoble(Zanim - someone adopted into a family they don't belong to, this was to point out some dude who fit the profile and was hurting, the locals knew his characteristics and status), an aggressor, Adulterer, a thief, etc, are not out of the Ordinary and because Allah wants us to avoid fitting into those categories. Likewise, These negative descriptions are parallel to the positive descriptions in the Quran about certain individuals like Believers, truthful, honest, blessed, smart, thoughtful, generous, giving, brave, fearful etc. The fact that you are criticizing the Quran for this points to your ignorance.
The Jews were not insulted as pigs and donkeys. That is the propaganda out there which you associate with. . The Jewish community had the good and the bad, and Allah related to us what both of these communities belonging to Israel were up to. We follow the good among them and we avoid the conduct of the bad ones among them. And Allah mentioned how he punished those among them who hurt their messengers and defied orders. Some of them were punished for their defiance and that is where the Quran mentioned how these defiant group among the Jewish community were turned into pigs and monkeys. You can in fact find a more harsh punishment towards the Jews in their own books. Another ignorant argument again destroyed. Allah mentioned how among them were good men and women who competed for doing good and prevented evil. Allah required Muslims to follow the foot steps of those Jews and Christians who followed their religion and be like them.
Twist: ""And in one of your last responses to Xildiid, did you just say "I am stating reasons given in Islam to your enquiries, musings, questions, and challenges. You don't make sense here. If you criticize Islam, and someone defends Islam using Islamic material, then that is what any logical person would want to see. A religion that can not advocate for itself based on its teachings is not religion worthy of acceptance dude. Islam has and will have an appeal for that reason to any intellectual seeking answers to their questions. There is no blind faith in Islam.

I see you're still at it with the character assassination, despite the fact that I said in my last response to you here, as well as in another comment early in this same thread, that I don't drink, and if I were, admitting it would be the least of my worries since I don't even believe in god. But again, cheap shots are the way to go in these kinda situations, right? At least those reading this post would see what I have been saying all along.
Straw-man arguments are what you have been doing since the beginning of this thread, since all you're doing is to repeat the good all exaggerated and unverifiable claims of Islam with no shred of evidence. If you could have proved me otherwise, this would have ended long time ago. You keep saying Islam is the truth and Allah is the only god is as true as Game of Thrones fans saying that the White Walkers are real and the Night King is their leader. All are fictions from the imaginations of humans. Couple of pages back, I listed several issues that wrong with Islam and you didn't give me the answer to even one of those issues, apart from quoting what someone else said, and YouTube videos of how great Islam is lol. But you're angry that someone who was born into a Muslim family, (not made the conscious decision to be part of it, though that shouldn't take away their ability to abandon it if they choose so) could leave it. If you weren't, you wouldn't waste all this time to persuade me otherwise.
Saying that Islam is the only true religion that has the solution for all mankind, and then showing up with verses and other Islamic claims that say it is true doesn't make any of your arguments, nor do the ones that Islam has been struggling to put forward for over fourteen centuries, truer. At the beginning of this thread you actually attempted to compare some of the so-called claims in the Koran with science, and when I laughed at your suggestion, and actually posted the several issues that I've mentioned above that show how contradictory and unscientific Islam is, now you've changed tactics and you're trying to prove Islam with Islam. Good work!
About those Westerns in that link with the quotes, I couldn't find one them becoming Muslim. So, if they were that highly educated and saw that Islam is the one and only true religion, why not save themselves from hellfire and become Muslims? Who would, with knowledge and evidence, wanna burn in the hell that was repeatedly mentioned in the Koran (great tactic for the writer of the Koran to instill fear in the "believers")? Or maybe, just maybe, they knew it was all bullshit and badly copied from other sources, including the Old and New Testaments, and went on with their work to make money? And as always, you like to make assumptions and jump to conclusions in the hope of making your arguments valid. I have been blindly following Islam before I started REALLY studying it. I became non-believer after I saw the Koran for what it's, a human mumbo jumbo that has no trace of the so-called divine revelation, and one that is riddled with inaccuracies and contradictions. Majority of those who believe in it today follow it blindly as they don't even understand what it's they believe in, and the few who follow it because they profit from it, or they do it out of fear that they would be rejected by the their families/communities, and in other cases for fear that they might be killed.
So the Koran talks about Jews being turned into apes as punishment, and you say check their own book for worse punishment, but there is no mention of that in their book, or in any other historical evidence that shows Jews, or any other prehistoric communities, being turned into apes. So do you believe what is in other religious books as evidence, but not if they don't support your argument, right? Why would the supposedly creator of the universe narrate such stories that couldn't be found in any of the previous books thought to be from him? Why not just turn the Arab non-believers at the time of Mohammed into apes, as that would have been a great lesson for the people living at the time, and definitely for us today? Or maybe it was Mohammed laying down his grand scheme of chasing the Jews from their homes and "Making Madina Great Again"?
Re your last point of using Islamic material as evidence to prove Islamic claims, I've answered that in my second paragraph here. And sorry to disappoint you, but everything in Islam, as well as in any other religion, is blind faith. You believe in claims made in a book from the seventh century Arabia, that there is someone in the sky who created us and created everything in it, and we have to do certain things and not do others so that we'll be either rewarded and punished after we die. The guy who was getting those messages from the so-called creator of the universe had pass out like someone with seizure while receiving those messages, and you just take that as the ultimate truth, with no evidence that any of it being true. If that isn't blind faith, then I don't know what is.

People with convictions and who more educated in what they believe in are hard to dissuade. A more advanced being in terms of power and prestige, who knows what he is doing and who lived far longer than any human being struggles daily with their stubbornness(muslims) and persistence. That dude is Ibliis who has soldiers fanning out everyday to just do what Twist and You Xildiid are amateur at doing
Big fail saxib. Orodoo qabiilka ka sheekee iyo xaafaddaydii yaa reer ugaas iyo abokor culus soo waeerareen lol.

It is a learning opportunity for many in here saxib. You are doing good work on the flip side and certainly push many to learn their religion. Also, I am certain many benefited from these exchanges when they encountered a point or two made on behalf of Islam they didn't know. Many Aha moments are abound.
You are serving God's religion in a way without your consent dude. You are also bearing witness against yourself as you debate. I suggest you continue your service to evil that leads to the service of Islam when others drop their two superior cents to destroy your suggestions and copied poor work of others.

You are repeating what you said before. All the answers to most of what you insinuated and falsely stated in this post are found in my last reply to you and in the previous ones. I will only address the few mentions you made that are new. Or the ones you rephrased but are somewhat similar in their intent anyway:
A- I don't care about you being Gaal. It is helpful to you if you have faith in your creator and live your life accordingly. You would be the prime benefactor of your faith, not me. Keep that in mind and put to rest about me worried or caring about your lack of faith.
B- Things that are supernatural have an impact on humans. The fear, the seizures, and outright fainting like what Happened to Moses in communications with God by the mountain side in Egypt, or to prophet Mohamed when he first saw Gabriel and the seizers during revelation are all the power of the other worldly nature which human beings can not survive unless given the ability to do so. Prophets are human beings who experience the same fear everybody else experiences who is not a prophet like us, and their bodies' abilities are humanly, any experience outside the bounds of their human experience had shown its impact on them. This does proof, if anything, their experience was both humanly in reaction to the supernatural, and the power of who is behind such events to be outside human sphere. Nothing we can imagine.
Anyways, Come up with another argument. These ones in your last post are not unusual though I am sure you thought you had a case. You always assume you have good argument only to find out how amateurish it was.
PS: You don't know anything about Islam and the evidence of that are how you react to what I write to you. It is like a new page is opened in front of you and you seem confused with each reply. You obviously have no clue about all the information I am writing in reply to your copy/paste material. It is like you never imagined the answers existed.
Stop lying to yourself btw, you never studied Islam. If you did, you would not allege there are contradictions.

In fact, this worked the other way around. You haven't brought anything new to the debate that hasn't been known to almost all the members here, but challenging your claims of Islam and showing all the holes in them in my counterarguments could actually benefit many Muslim members who are on the verge of leaving Islam. Many Muslims are leaving Islam in big numbers today than ever before, as has been reported recently here and here, and there are many who're struggling with their doubts and want answers for their questions re Islam. So the more you lot try to repeat the same old nonsensical stories, the closer those folks will have the courage to speak up and leave this death cult. And you're helping that cause, so thank you!

Here we go again! "You don't know anything about Islam." "You never studied Islam." "You drink alcohol" The same old repetitive garbage and outright lies of someone who realized they couldn't defend their bullshit, so belittle your opponent as a last resort. But still you couldn't prove me wrong, so what does that say about your knowledge of Islam, ya mucalimu?
Here's the direct link to my list on page 6 of this thread, so show me how Islam could reconcile those unscientific claims with science. But you and I both know you'll come back with your usual sermons and empty, long-ass essays that don't answer the questions asked. I am waiting!
