It's not being 'uptight' sisters, but general decency and furthermore, sex talk is a private issue unless it's about educating someone and disease prevention. at any rate, if you're not married legally in Islam, then sex is all but prohibited by God and those who indulge in illegal sexual intercourse (including masturbation) will be punished in hear after, the holy Quran states this quite clearly for all muslim to appreciate. That is all.

I am not a very theological individual to give u all the details, but according my local wadaad (admittedly a wahaabist
) masturbation is 'haaram' and for those of us who are not married yet, then all we can do is fast and fast and fast until we lose the urge for sex.

call me what you like,but it doesn't surprise me at all that we somalis have one of the highest divorce rates in the world,and one of the most miserable marriage sex lives,no matter how 'muslim' we try to be.and looking around you find that many somalis actually only have the religion on their lips,and our misery is fast extending to all spheres of our life,such that we not only have no sex life,but have no country,no stand in the world and no direction in life.what the religion forbids is crystal clear,and for logical reasons.the rest is purely common sense.
