Mad... As a Somali, I know that each time we have foreign intervention, all it does is make things worse.

My arguement is correct. When you win the war, you form a government of national unity. The SNA was willing to do that and had talks underway with the ex-Siyaad regime who were licking their wounds from successive defeats.

What I don't get is why Boutros Ghali, the USA, and UN had decided to become so biased against the SNA ? I understand the reason for Bourtros Ghali, being a friend of Siyaad Barre and a believer that the Darood were fellow Arabs while the Hawiye were not.

The SNA was willing to honor any national interests the USA had in Somalia. They did not come across as anti-American.

The hostility was generated by Aideed. When the UN showed up, Aideed, instead of participating in talks, starting trying to dictate and was told to sit down and shut up.

And "national Unity" isn't what Aideed was looking for. He fully intended to enjoy the fruits of his victory.

-- The starvation in Baidoa was in full swing by the time the USC captured it from Siyaad. The ex-government forces had looted the foodstocks of the Eelay and used it to feed their armies. --- We were brave. You are correct in that we captured the former military compounds. However, the Sacad's real power lied in its clan's wealthy businessmen who funded the USC. Without the Sacad wealthy business and the countless donations from the Sacad diaspora, the USC would have never took off. No qabiil funded the USC like the Sacad. Nairobi Sacad contributed to a tune of $20 million in 1991 alone.

This is a myth. Aideed was not killed in a street battle. He died from complications related to a battle injury. President Moi sent Aideed a medical plane to evacuate him to Nairobi Hospital but Aideed refused and said, "I don't want to die overseas." During the operation to treat his injury, he died.

The Degodia women are extremely beautiful, very hardworking and baari to their husbands.

Ahhhh, now this is a very good question. It wasn't. We should have let you guys go on killing each other as long as you wanted to. Wasn't our problem.
