Abdiwahab, after this statement, you've become a certified Somalinet headcase.
So I assume what happend in Galakaciyo, was all just a misunderstanding perhaps?

LuqGanane,
Using the same logic that you and Warsame espouse to defend Siyaad by saying that he was NOT In control of everyone and that there were men making decisions with consulting with him.
The similar thing can be said about Caydiid. He did not control every Hawiye and there were decisions made outside his control.

Caydiid, while he did have some good leadership qualities, he should never have been anymore than a military leader. Perhaps a defense minister even. However his legacy, unfortunately took a hit after '91, and he died like a teenaged Moryan, fighting a gunbattle in a street corner. In addition, his turning on unarmed Hawiye in Xamar, killing tens of thousands of them, showed that like Abdullahi Yusufs massacres of Majerten (Puntland), and Darood (Balanbale, Goldodob, Afmadho), he is was aprt of the new generation of power hungry faction leaders and warloards in Somalia post 1991, who didn't even care about their clan even, and who all wanted to topple MSB, yet had no plan, inititive or capability to unite or build a country.
In any event, Allahu Naxaristo, Mohamed Farah Caydid.

A/Wahab,
I'm brave, and man enough to say, that MSB should have stepped down after 1986, as unfortunately he had no control of the country, and army officers from Woqoyi to Mudug had free reign to do whatever they want, no matter what, embarassing, and tainting MSB's reputation. Thats another story for another time.
As for Caydid, how can he possibly control, thousands of drugged, sleep deprived child soldiers, who were camped outside Xamar for a full month without sleep? Xashis, Qaat and a AK-47 was given to everyone over 12, so once they came to cities, do you think they came in waving a white flag? I'm not saying Caydid was Hitler, and told everybody kill every Darood you see, however he know what was going on in Xamar, Galkaciyo, he knew what his slave Omar Jess was doing, and he never spoke out about it.
Also A/wahab a food for thought question: Was it, or was it not Caydid (aun) who turned this from a "ousting of a dictator" to a Darood-Hawiye war. You know whats funny? Every Marehan relative I talked to told me that in Xamar, Dhulbahantes, Majertens were being seeked out even more than Marehan. Explain this flawed logic, as Abdullahi Yusuf, Ogaden etc. were even collaborating with your hero.

Re: General Mohamed Farah Aideed: A True Somali Patriot!
Luq,
Caydiid did not initially want to get into Xamar and hoped to surround it to force the regime to capitulate but with the shellings of Wardhigley by government forces along with the massacres by the Kofi Gaduud who were killing notable Hawiye-Issaq men by house to house operations along with the spontaneous uprising by the Hawiye residents of Xamar, the rebellion became complicated.
Caydiid had hoped to gradually surround and choke the government forces by collaborating with the Omar Jess of the SPM from the south. He was prepared to offer terms of surrender and amensty to the remanents of the regime who gave up or left in exile.
The USC personnel under Caydiid were trained, disciplined men. At the battle of Mogadishu, there were many spontaneous residents who joined the armed struggle against Siyaad and these were not answerable to Caydiid or the USC.
The Darood vs. Hawiye war was planned and orchestrated by the remanents of the regime. Without the unnecessary massacres of Hawiye which formented Hawiye rage in the city, there would have not been this war. But with the shellings with the BM21s by Siyaad and the actions of the Red Berets, there was bound to be bloodletting.
On the Hawiye side, there were many men who worked for Siyaad Barre and also helped forment bloodletting. They were trying to recreate themselves a Hawiye and ProUSC. The bloodletting was a distraction to mask their past crimes. The SPM and Cumar Jess were attacked by some ignorant men who did not answer to Caydiid and worked for the group to create a qabiil war.
The winners of changing the war to Darood vs. Hawiye = Siyaad Barre (who was saved from being skinned alive by his Darood), Ali Mahdi and his manifesto group and the Regime Hawiye Loyalists (who like their Somaliland allies changed things up to boost their qabiil credentials to mask their past activities)
The losers were the Somali people who opposed the Barre regime: Hawiye, Darood, Eelay, Issaq, Rer Xamar.

Re: General Mohamed Farah Aideed: A True Somali Patriot!
A/Wahab,
Do you know who 99% of the Darood casualties were? Majerten, Ogaden, Lelkasse, and Dhulbahante. Majerten and Ogaden were anti MSB to the core, and were cooperating and colaborating with your Adeer. Ditto for Absame. Lelkasse, had committed NO crime other then being Tanade Darood. Most of the Marehans in Xamar packed up and left Xamar 2 weeks before the USC entered, and went to Cabudwaq, as Somali National Army officers, receiced memos, and found out about the dubious plans of the USC. What turned this into a qabil war, was when these clans who thought the USC was a legitimate political jabhad stayed in Xamar thinking that there would be a clean takeover, and didn't even imagine what would happen. Even a Ali Saleban (Majerten) told me that Majertens were singing anti-Siyad, anti-Marehan slogans. However these people who were unarmed, were stunted and shocked when they were bing massarced. Same thing in Galakaciyo.
Alhamdurilah, Marehan, were armed and ready and most of all knew what your intentions were. Also we knew that for better or for worse, EVEN if there were Marehans who didn't agree with MSB, we would take the fall for whatever hate people had for him, whether right or wrong. Everybody was gunning for us. Wallahi, I don't have any enmity or cuqdad towards HG or Hawiye in general, lakin the only thing that I hate is when USC loyalists present themselves and their leader as a legitimate, for the people political umbrella, when infact they were pretty much nothing more of an interhamwe type orginization, who had the time of their lives for a couple of months killing Themselves, Ealay, Daroods, Cad cads, or anybody they came across etc., and then turned on themselves and killed each other like animals in Xamar (4 month war), Murarsade, Hawadle, HG etc.
BTW, don't spread lies, and be truthful. MSB had Heavy artillery tanks, and several other very heavy weapons he could have used, but didn't. He was fully confident he would just leave, and recapture the city.
