I am wondering why there are often many hotels being built in Somali cities instead of more "essential" structures like this hospital? I understand the housing situation is tight, especially with so many people coming in to the city but I always thought it odd how there were shiny hotels popping up in Somali cities with crumbling hospitals and rubble everywhere else.

Nice pictures Mogadishu is improving quickly. The reason some of the masses don't invest much in hospitals is because they have this mentality that
It's the government's duty. Some communities have realized if they can build shiny multi million hotels they can also build hospitals, wells, dams, schools
and other vital things. The latter is the new mentality inherited from the 1991 Somalia revolution.

With the prices soaring how could a young student like me afford to buy land in the future? I know they will probably go down but at the time i'm finished studying they''ll be up there again.
