I have never heard of a Dir individual claiming to be anything other than a Somali. Our folklore is replete with Dir being our forefathers etc, that is the respect they always garner amongst Somalis and they aren't known to be Somalis who like to claim of Arab Origin. But then again, you will always meet the odd screwed up individuals who are strange.


Anyways, Soomaali waa dad magac iyo sinji dheer, anyone who feels not to be part of them can go commit mass suicide for all I care.

Quantum: I think Zumaale is misunderstood at times as many people confuse Y-dna with autosomal dna.

I am Zumaale's kin, Dir through and through. And I can tell you, in no uncertain terms, that I am very much Somali, and very proud to be among the Somali nation that we share with every other Somali tribe.
