Murax, the gov is trying something new to secure the city and prevent Al Shabaab attacks. This curfew is needed even though lots of people will suffer economically because of it.
Warsheikh
Beexaani is where is at right now. Big homes are being built there. Its one of the safest zones in the city.
Correct but one does not need to be with Government t official per se if they hold a Valid Governmental identification. I usually stick to certain areas anyway. Dayniile, Bakaarah, Suuqa Xoolaha etc etc are off limits for me

As much as I love this thread. Where are the less pleasant pictures of Mogadhisho?
Our optimism in Mogadhishos future should be coupled with realism of its present condition.

Why do you want to see the less pleasant pictures? The city is improving at a spectacular rate. Everyone with an inkling of intellect knows Muqdisho is damaged but this thread is about showing that it is still very alive and on its way to being reconstructed very fast.

^Bcause I haven't been there, I'd like a preview before I make that decision to go lol
I get what you mean though but still it just gives a false impression of heightened peace, prosperity and economic growth.
Dhex dhexaad aa loo baahan yahay or maybe I'm the only one that thinks this.

I just realized I'm so dependant on SNet for any "Somalia related news" I had not considered googling it myself.

inSomalia,
I remember when the only decent hotel in Garowe was Makka Al Mukarama

What was the name of that restaurant near it called ? Barwaqo etc. They had some great beer & canjeero and I really worked hard to maintain a Mudugian accent while roaming Garowe.
